    Morale

After yesterdays game im as disappointed as everyone, however to put things in perspective and make myself feel better about the loss, the fact we lost against essendon in a game we should have won, the boys morale to lose that game, then to have to fly back down to melbourne and verse richmond against their home crowd who are always in full flight..the confidence and morale of the boys was down as well was effort which was totally lackluster..i know there is no excuse but i tried to put the loss in perspective hopefully we bounce back next week

You may not be aware of this but the crowd was not much worse than fifty at the start. By the end it was about 80% tigers...

Like a dead cat I would think

They would have known yesterday going into that game what the stakes were.

My morale is still down today, but I'll do whatever it takes to bounce back for next week's game.

I think the games of the past few weeks make the Saints game really interesting. Forget finals - we may still make eighth, whatever. It's become all about the character of the team and whether there are any deep-seated or long-term issues.

If they come out to play at ANZ, give it a red-hot go and make a game of it, I'll be happy whatever the result. If they win, that's a bonus. But if they look anything like last weekend, I'll be really concerned that something has gone wrong with the group, which will take time to fix.

I was angry, frustrated and numb after the Bombers match, but at least we played well. I was just flat and disgusted after this one. My morale is far lower now than it was a week ago.

We miss Kirk so much! there is no one doing the ultra courageous act to wrench us back into the game. We can't go on with MacVeigh and Goodes as Captains. They go missing in action when it matters

You're right but leadership isn't just the responsibility of the captains. The fact a player hasn't got a c next to his names shouldn't stop them showing leadership.

I was at a GWS function a few weeks ago and one of the topics was Leadership. They are teaching their young blokes what leadership means and exposing them to situations where they need to exhibit leadership qualities.

Be interesting to see if the Swans put our blokes through similar programs because it's evident to me that when the group is flat this year there is no one to lift them.

Normally I can rally a day or so after a bad game to view the coming week with equanimity if not outright (read cocky) confidence, this time though I am just disgusted, we played such an appalling game that I'm left wondering 'why bother with the rest of the season?'
The team needs to take a serious look at themselves and their attitudes.
