Time for the Sydney Press to get stuck into the Swans

Gee, sometimes I wished the Swans were still in Melbourne a la pre-1982. The Melbourne Press, particularly the Herald Sun would have got stuck into Sydney's recent poor performance against Richmond. That media 'serve' in Victoria more often than not has the effect on inspiring a team to improve, and they usually do.

Unfortunately, the Sydney Press are too timid to REALLY get stuck into the Swans, no matter how bad their performance was.

"Why bother?" was a pretty fair summary. And I don't think we'll go well OTC tonight.

I'd be very surprised if Roosy and Horse haven't got their heads together today and worked out a plan for Roosy to say whatever is needed tonight to drive a message home....

We'll cop a public flogging similar to the one undoubtably delivered in private by Horse.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

And fair enough too. Spare the rod and spoil the child. (Please no debate on spanking children; it's just an expression.) Reap the whirlwind Swans, and come back next week with an answer!

I bet there are some parents in London who wished they'd gone the spanking route early - rather than prison visits now. And there were a few Swans players I could have slapped yesterday for being lazy. Did they all turn up to the aftermatch? What was said?

I think i preferred my team when I did not know a lot about what they do or think in their spare time - maybe all the media and supporter friendly stuff that is coming out of the club has got a few of them a little bit ahead of themselves in a close knit bunch without a "Kirk" type to bring them back into line - no comment's from supporters I notice on "Goodes dive" for a free - we gave it to the Freo tosser Ballyntyne - hardly leadership from Goodes in my eyes.

The problem kids in london where the ones who were spanked; only understand violence to resolve conflict.

Hmmm... I know this is another thread, but I got spanked as a child and I dont have a violent bone in my body.

Expression? It's says so in the Bible and therefore has to be gospel................I thought a vigorous spanking was good for the soul at any age

Some British MP's in the past have enjoyed a rather good spanking.
