Be interesting to see who picks him up (I'm sure someone will). Can he put Melbourne back together, or is Adelaide a safer bet?

Or does he go to Port to hold Primus' hand?

I'd assumed that no-one would touch Port with a barge pole but yeah, another option I guess

I would have thought Melbourne would be a good fit. They have the talent on the list, they just need a coach with experience who can get them to implement a game plan in a more consistent and disciplined fashion.

Player-wise, definitely. I wonder about the issues with the board and management. It sounds like the players wanted Bailey to stay and managers to go - but then the opposite happened.

You have to feel for Eade. Likeable bloke and a good coach but too often the bridesmaid. Perhaps unlucky that the Dogs peaked in the Geelong-Collingwood era.

Yes, Demons is the obvious fit. It'd be good for the league if he went to Port Adelaide, but I can't imagine any credentialled coach applying for the position.

Fun fact: If Eade the ex-Swans coach had quit Paul Williams the Swans premiership player would have been senior coach for the last three games.

Eade won't coach again in 2011

The second time he's left a club and been replaced by someone he coached. He at least avoids the most games coached
without a flag. For this season anyway. 2 games into his Melbourne stint he'll break that record.

And so it has come to pass!

Trivia - anyone know the most coaches to be sacked in a season? Over at Big Footy they point to 3 in 2001 (Judge, Drum and Blight).

                          Is Primus safe? [Mod edit.]

Has a very woeful coaching strike rate so far.

Melbourne are in a tough spot now that Eade is available. Do they take a chance on an inexperienced coach or do they play it safe and go for Eade?

Eade has a good record of getting underperforming sides into premiership contention but the fact that he has coached for so long and never won a flag would be a turn off.

I want to wish Willo all the best for his senior coaching debut on the weekend. Could he repeat Roos' feats?
