    Luella McVeigh

Good article on Jarrad and the personal battle going on in regards to his ill baby daughter. On behalf of RWO, we wish her a speedy recovery and appreciate Jarrad's commitment to the team despite the difficult time going on.

Thanks for sharing that. I've wanted to know what was wrong since I first heard there were complications. As a father of 2 (thankfully/hopefully) healthy children, I can only imagine how difficult this must be for them. Hopefully everything turns out okay and she lives a happy and healthy life. Sometimes the result of a football match just doesn't seem so important after all. Selfishly I'm glad he seems to be able to focus his energies (and frustrations?) on playing some good football.

      Poor little Luella.
      Keep strong Jarrad and Clementine.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

His football and leadership are excellent, but it's a reminder to all that football isn't everything.

Hang in there Macca, things WILL get better.

          Yes indeed.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Well said mate. My thoughts and best wishes go out to the McVeigh family.

Big hugs to Macca, Clementine and Luella. Lots of support from us all redandwhiters. Hope that answers will be found. Trust that all will heal.

At the game Stella Junior, all of 10, pointed out to me rather early on "Jarrad's playing at Half Back", then a moment later "Do you think Jarrad's playing at Half Back to counter Brendan Goddard? Is it because Tadhg's not there?" when I said "Yes, I think perhaps that's it." Stella Junior thought it over and declared "Jarrad will do well in that role, he's very smart." Stella Junior likes Jarrad quite a lot.

I hope all goes well in Jarrad's world soon.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I'm astonished Jarrad played such a terrific game yesterday, given all that's going on with his daughter. Shows great strength of character IMO. Positive thoughts and best wishes to his family during this difficult time.

Is it just me, or does it come across as decidedly poor taste to use a "heart" pun in the title of such a story? Maybe it was unintentional, I don't know, but it seems pretty off.

It was Longmire who used the "all heart" tag, and the same headline is on the article on the Swans' site. Must admit I am not sure it is the best phrase to use.
