    Goodsey's 300th?

Anybody know when and possibly where Goodes' 300th will be played. If it is in fact this year and which state it may be in, based on how finals look now?

Week 2 of the finals. Fair chance it'll be in Perth, but otherwise Melbourne - that is assuming we win the elimination final. I am going to be doing my utmost to go as well, even if it is in Perth as he is a champion and lets hope like we did today we can rise to the occasion for him shoudl it be this year.

By my calculations (not confident in these btw) - Will be 2nd week of finals should we make them which would be an away game (in Melbourne or Perth). Or first round next year should we not make it past week 1 of finals.

Thanks! I'm hoping it's Melbourne if it is this year, as Perth would be a little expensive and being 18 and in the middle of year 12, I don't think my parents would be too happy to send me over there, but there is no way I'm going to miss that game.

          A Massive Milestone.
Only the second Swan to do it, as only a Swan, and a Sydney Swan at that, and both indigenous players.

I hope it is Melbourne too.

I just had a fiddle with the ladder predictor and it's all but nailed on that it will be in Melbourne- we would play the loser of Hawthorn and Geelong in Week 2 if we were to beat St Kilda in week 1 of the finals. The only way that wouldn't happen is if we were to finish 8th, which would require Essendon to beat Port by 100 + and for us to lose to the Lions by 5 goals +, which seems unlikely. Then we'd have to beat Carlton in Melbourne and play the loser of Collingwood West Coast.

It is a 0.0001% chance we will play in Perth.

Ladder predictor says that if Saints have 12 point win against Carlton...then we need 100 point win to get 6th.

Which would determine week 1 of the finals and Goodesy's 299th. But provided we don't finish 8th, then if we win week 1, week 2 and Goodesy's 300th will be in Melbourne.

As far as finishing 6th goes, the good thing is we play before the Saints, so we just have to go out and play for as big a win as possible and then sit and wait, but at least at that point our destiny is still in our hands, rather than knowing the result of our game won't make an ounce of difference.

Okay, thankyou! Hopefully we can beat the saints then!

Got this from Paul of Facebook Swans Supporters

Mark Ricciuto currently holds the record for quickest to 300 games (13 years and 82 days). If the Swans were to get far enough this season Goodes will do it in 12 years and 173 days). If he has to wait until round 1 next season (and assuming the season starts in the last week of March) it will be 12 years and 351 days - so yes, he will be the quickest ever.

With any luck, we'll be able to plonk Goodes in a forward pocket once his run eventually runs out, and he'll last til game 400.

Roos said something similar during the game.

No reason why he couldn't play 3-4 seasons more playing as a forward. Bugger it, let him play until he's reached 500 games. I'd put in money for ramps around the club and for a Zimmer frame.

Every time I am at a game, I remind myself what a privilege it is to watch Goodes play. Seeing him read the play and anticipate where the ball will go - well, it's something every aspiring AFL player should study. Goodes is a supreme athlete and has the ability to do extraordinary things on the footy field. It is an absolute honour to see him playing for us. Love ya Goodsey.
