Come now AnnieH, you know how the saying goes: "Through thick and through thin and through Fev I will support the Team"!
Fevola a serious option?

I wish this discussion would die. Now, I'll prolong the agony by linking to this story (don't think anyone else linked to it yet?):

Are you suggesting there isn't one dickhead on our list?? Be a miracle to get that many testosterone filled footballers in one place and not have one dickhead...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Al there's dickheads and then there's "D"ickheads and at the top of the heap sits B Fevola, the king of them all.Comment

No question that's right but our recruiting policy should be based on obtaining the best players available to win games of football.
Now the coaches could view Fev as a disruptive influence that would harm our chances to win games of football. However I don't want Fevola summarily dismissed because he's not a nice person. It should always boil down to whether he increases our chances of winning games of footy...And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. Actually in a strange sort of a way I think Fev is a sort of a nice person. I find him an interesting and strangely magnetic character. At least I wouldn't class him as not a nice person, just someone with some serious issues that I hope for his sake he manages to deal with in the longer term. I just think it's too big a risk in terms of the disruptive influence that he might be, combined with the fact that at his age he is most likely past his best.No question that's right but our recruiting policy should be based on obtaining the best players available to win games of football.

Is he the final piece of the puzzle we'd need in terms of a premiership anyway? I would rather we spend a couple of years developing our list and possibly picking up a younger key forward in the Dawes mould as well as a class midfielder. I think those pieces would take 2 or 3 years to build, but we're heading in the right direction already. I dont think the signing of Fev would move us too far up the ladder even if he does have a reasonably productive season or two left in him.Comment

I want to support a club that I'm proud to be a member of. Without supporters there is no club. I would not be proud to support a club with Brendan Fevola in any capacity. So while winning games is of paramount importance I think there are other issues nearly as important to the continuing success of the Swans.Comment
