15 posts in 3 and a half quarters of footy. Twilight footy???
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Kind of a boring game. Bit of an exodus going on from the Trumper stand.

Wow, rather quiet thread this week.

I thought Brisbane could actually be a bit of a threat, and it looked like that early, but they just fell right away in the second quarter.

Really good signs from Rohan and Goodes, but White was dreadful and Shaw must surely have single-figure disposal efficiency.

Normally a nine goal win would provide a little less misery and whinging....

Yeah, but we were absolutely terrible for significant portions. Lazy, horrible disposal all over the place. Dumb, stupid, imbecilic(!) decision making. Sloppy, sloppy effort - taking sooo much for granted with the ball in hand. Hopefully Dr. Finals will cure those ills.....but I'm not holding my breath.

exactly! was a slow start, but aside from that, they switched to second gear and overcame the opposition as they should. Also.. i thought White wasnt too bad, he set up a few goals, contested well, and did some great tap work in the second quarter..

I think this thread annoyed me more than having to listen to the game on the radio with Kelli Underwood commentating.

You are right but it only became 9 goals in junk time.

I share the frustration with others on White. I think he is the 3rd forward after Reid and Spangher, in that he doesn't have to be the one to present and probably gets the lesser defender. When Spangher went off he had a real chance to stand up, but either didn't see the footy coming or got knocked off the contest so easy. There were a few times when we went forward quickly and he just didn't lead to the side we were coming in. He probably should have been paid a mark late in the game, but then again he just didn't take the firm grip on the ball.

I gave Tadgh a bake at half time but I thought his second half was much better. Our trouble is we can't afford to have both Malceski and Tadgh playing in the backline together. If I had to choose I would go Tadgh because at least he is still prepared to put the body in whereas Malceski is one timid footballer. Roosey loves Mattner and rapped him up a fair bit, but boy he was sloppy.

The rest of the team I thought was pretty even. Richards and Johnson were very steady down back again.

I only saw the 2nd half, but we were pretty ordinary in parts.
I guess it is pretty hard to stay "up" after last weeks game.

How many times did we put it straight down the throat of an unmarked brisbane player, when under no pressure?

I don't know what the team could have done to excite us fans after last week's Top 10 Swans Game of the Century. The boys slept through the first quarter, woke up for most of the second, then napped again as they looked like they were going to try and protect the 6 goal lead for an entire half. That was frustrating. Too happy to see the ball over the sideline or dragged in for a ball up. With a handy lead, I would have liked to have seen some slightly risky play on footie in the third just to see what it felt like.

We looked better late in the fourth only because most of the Lions were already planning their end of season trip outfits.

Fantastic win. I seriously thought we might have a "hangover" after the Geelong game, but we systematically dismantled Brisbane who have been playing alright recently.

Spranger was sensational, and I think we have finally found the "forward" we need to go deep into september. He's no bradshaw, but in combination with Reid and White, gives us a good spread of targets.
Goodes cameo's, and the best small half forward in the game at the moment (J Bolton), we finally have a functional forward line.

I keep waiting for Richards to be shown up, but he keeps going. still makes me nervous against the guns.

Sorry Jetta, I dont think you are finals material yet.

I saw Brett Kirk as we left, unbelievably he is more handsome out of the red and white.

im with you, i dont get the doom and gloom some people have. Wasnt win of the year but they put in a good performance after last weeks high and go into the finals with confidence. Goodsey will go close to a brownlow this year, i think his consistency has been the best its ever been this year
