    Dear Swans Marketing department,

If you have had sleepless nights over who's going to pull in the crowds once the great Adam Goodes finally hangs up his boots, surely today's performance by one Gazza Rohan should put your worries to bed. What an excitement machine! High flying marks, ridiculous goals from the boundary line, whole hearted chases and bone-rattling tackles - this kid has it all and then some. I think the biggest headache that the coaches have with the Rooster is where to play him, but for the moment it looks like the forward line is the place for him.

Perhaps send a box of chocolates to Kinnear Beatson, Ricky Barham, Stuey Maxfield, George Stone and whoever else is in the recruiting department is responsible for such a wise and inspired choice at pick number 6.

    Yours excitedly,

Certain lights up the game when he goes near the ball.
    Well said Ugg!

Indeed. We just have to cross our fingers and hope he can get out on the ground.

Jetta might be a draw once he starts to...you know, do something. Maybe ban him from wearing fluro boots until he gets double-figure possessions.

and yet my very clear recollection was that the swans were willing to give up picks 6 and 14 to the tigers so they could get dustin martin...

I can't say how he pleased I am that the tiges knocked it back but i do think martin would be kicking goals out of the centre square at the scg every week...

Agree!! But I look at todays game (and recent outings) and also take a lot away for the future with the likes of AJ in def, and Luke Parkers hard nosed tackling, attack and sneaky goals.

Hard to notch up double figures when you're usually subbed on in the last quarter. That would equate to a 40 possession game if he started from the first bounce.

I think it's far to say he's played more than a quarter in a lot of his games this year.

Besides, Mal got nine when he was subbed in during the first quarter early in the season, IIRC...

I've said it a thousand times and people might be sick of me but Gaz is not a half-back. You may disagree with me but i've said it from the start. The kid is an attacking player - play him half-forward somewhere and he'll kick goals every time and provide defensive pressure.

What was Luffy on about on 2MMM today, saying Rohan is only in our best 22 if he's in good form? Now Luffy, if you're reading, we love your work, but sometimes you try too hard not to be seen as biased towards the Swans...

Watching Rohan play makes me realise how few attacking players we actually have... then I remember we won a flag with 22 defensive midfielders and it makes me smile

But yes, he's definitely an excitement machine. Can seriously play. Is going to be an absolute nightmare for the opposition to match up on in the years to come.

Ugg - were you listening to what I was saying as we walked into the Surry Hills pizza restaurant? Love Goodes, love Gaz as the new generation - and Rooster came over to us to hand over a footy after the game today. I couldn't work out while he was smiling as he approached till I saw he gave it to a girl who had "Rohan 16" on the front of her Swans shirt - and had flaming red hair, too. I asked if she had adopted him and she replied "I wish!"

Fabulous - is it unfair to suggest he could be a real key for us come the finals? Really adds something that we don't otherwise have - kept reminding me of a ranga Daisy Thomas tonight.

Had a great game today. He is a class act - that finish for the goal from the tight angle today was something special. Just another one to add to the list of really good players we have coming through - the future is indeed bright - indeed bright red if you look at Gary for too long!

Enjoyed his game last week, possibly even more today. That threaded goal from the boundary was just amazing to watch.

It's been said in other threads already but I'll add to it - some of our youngsters are very special and make you confident in the future. I think we're very lucky to have several who already look accomplished and unfazed beyond their years: Parker, Rohan, Reid and AJ.
