We've had him twice since the 'Docker Shocker' at the SCG for two wins.
One thing about him, he doesn't appear to get intimidated by home crowds. The more we booed at the SCG, the more he caned us. He thinks the game is all about him, so he doesn't let home crowds take the initiative off him....
With that in mind, maybe it's not so bad. We'll have plenty of support on Sat night, but it's fair to say we'll be outnumbered and the Aints fans will be brutal if we start to get a run on and they see their year going down the toilet.
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09
Since the Dockers game i think he has been quite reasonable to us in the two games. Maybe he is feeling guilty. It could work in our favour, plus the article on the HS website could help.
I think he's been quite good to us since the Dockers game.
Hopefully this will continue.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Totally disagree .
A poor performance at Homebush against St Kilda was masked by the other umpires sometimes paying at distance what he wasn't .
Watched the folowing St Kilda Vs NM game and the "Ray show " chant went up .As a neutral it was easy to see that NM got shafted at a time they were clearly on top .Riewolt just has to get blown over to receive a free and Ray has no idea on 50m penaties .There was an almighty scramble next to the square , a whistle and the ball came out almost simultaneously .Not in Ray's eyes . Whistle and 50m .Spoiled a good game .NM lost heart and we left early .

Norfs?????
St Kilda?????
Who cares? Let them fight their own battles.
As long as he realises WE know the rules.

Regardless of whether it is good for us or not, how is it that we keep getting him time and again?
With 8 games a week and thus 24 umpires going around each weekend, it is a statistical anomaly (to say the least) that we have scored him four times since Round 17 ('THAT' game against the Shockers). Our next most 'prolific' is Margetts (three occasions - Rounds 24, 21 and 20) and Vozzo has had us twice (R23 and R16). The other 16 have all only umpired us once.
That said, he has been virtually un-noticeable recently - which is what the majority of the footy world wants from the umpires! Should be no issues for us this week as a result.

My inclination was to agree with this. After the Lions, which I watched at the pub down the road, I was wishing I was at the SCG so I could hang over the umpires exit and clap them off and tell them,"See, you can do it! Great job!" Not that they were perfect, no-one expects that, but I thought a bit of positive reinforcement might help things along.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
