    The "RC" Factor ...

We look likely to go into the first week of finals with only one player on the injured list (unlucky Crusher, your best season so far and worthy Mulrooney Medalist - congrats!).

    Is it dumb luck?

I think not, and say take a bow, Bryce Cavanagh for thinking outside the square and introducing the "Real Commando" to the troops in the pre-season!

I think it is obvious that all of the bulking up they did has enabled most of the players to endure the bumps and bruises of a full season in great shape, and give the club every opportunity to go as far as they possible can!

Well done, and also to an organisation that encourages and endorses this sort of initiative amongst its people ... always at the cutting edge!

ExemplarSC (nee Real Commando) posted this on Twitter yesterday.

Have any of u @AFLNewsWire @RWOau @AFL noticed that my lads (Swans) r still strong enough at the end of the season 2 stand up when tackled?
So I asked if they have another 4 weeks left in them.

    The reply:
@RWOau @AFLNewsWire @AFL HELL YEAH! Just getting to their peak now.

oh that RC. For a minute there I thought this was going to be another thread about OPSM number 18. Come to think of it perhaps this RC could help the other RC with his centre bounce issues.

Ha! Is that the short, ginger headed, extremely bias umpire that makes me want to join back up for the period of a match and utilise some of the 'tools of my trade' I once used?! That guy irritates me. When I saw him on the field last weekend I started getting worried he was going to 'assist' Brisbane in the way he normally does for every team that plays the lads. Why is he allowed to get away with that?

You all know I'm VERY new at all of this, but I can't believe there isn't a body that sits and reviews the decisions of the men in yellow. If there isn't than there pigging well should be, and if there is, why aren't they doing their job?

Ok, rant over. The guys are really up for this late in the season. Some very strong lads in there too.

Can't wait for Sat, and if you're in the King Cross Hotel, come say hello...you'll hear me!!

A pom in Kings Cross on a Saturday night? I find that very hard to believe...
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

It was obvious it wasn't the RC you were thinking of, there was no swearing in the title or OP.

There is. Its name is Jeff Gieschen. The standard Monday morning line is "all umpire decisions were reviewed and found to be correct."

I'm really impressed with the lack of shoulder injuries that we had been struggling with in years prior. I know this was a targeted area of RC's strengthening, so kudos!

Typical that Hanners blew up last night...I should have kept my bloody mouth shut:-(

Outside of that, the lads were strong again. SO proud of them. LOVE how the pundits, and some people on here I might add, write the lads off and then they hammer teams. Top tip...NEVER write off my boys.

There is a review after every match...he's called Jeff Gieschen and he has INCREDIBLE ways of miraculously discovering that the umpires only ever make 1 wrong decision and 1 wrong decision in any match....AND that there is no such thing as a team that gets the raw end of the pineapple in ANY game EVER. I believe there is usually some release on afl.com.au every week where the Giesch crows about how the review has demonstrated the umpires made no mistakes. what a crock! Wish I were in charge of the umpiring department - I guarantee every footy fan would love me! Interpretation change number 1 - IN ORDER TO HAVE A FREE KICK PAID AGAINST YOU, YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING WRONG!!!!!! Protecting yourself from a Geelong player charging at your groin head first does not qualify!!!

He would have been doing his morning push-ups before the flight home this morning.
