    Come to Xave Us

Nice piece in The Age about our Xavierians:

He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

That is a good article. In a Melbourne paper. Went looking and did find the Sydney version in the SMH....

    Thanks Mr D

Great article but I have to wonder about:
      (Spangher)
"In four games, the last three in a row, the least he has shown is a cute eye for a goal."

      Um-not just the eye Greg...

Great piece. And I'm one of those who couldn't care less about Xav college.

        Nice thread title too.

Ok I was bored with no reserves game this weekend.

          The Swans' own X-Men

Ted Richards is Beast - under battle conditions, this X-Man is famed for taking on gigantic monsters but off-duty is a surprisingly erudite and well-read individual with a wicked sense of humour.
Matt Spangher is Wolverine - with his wild unkempt hair and uncanny ability to heal quickly, this X-Man has quickly become a big fan favourite
Alex Johnson is Iceman - still relatively young and yet to fully develop his powers, this precocious X-Man is noted for his coolness under pressure.
Josh P. Kennedy is Colossus - physically imposing X-Man who possesses superhuman strength which renders the task of bringing him down almost impossible.
Daniel Hannebery is Cyclops - This X-Man is highly professional with his discipline, selflessness and has tremendous leadership qualities.

            Love it Ugg.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Teddy getting in trouble for his nonchalant reading and Joey being an academic 'plodder' (at least in maths ) made me laugh. They all turned out as really sweet, personable men and I think all of them are involved, or at least were, in some type of higher education. Couldn't have asked for a better lot.
