Umpiring as always, but it is pointless complaining about ... it is a fact of life that when we play Vic sides in Melbourne, the nature of the umpiring is so weak that they will be influenced by the crowds in every 50/50 call.

So when it is important, they will get the decisions, and then other times, normally when the game is over, we will get the meaningless ones on our back flank to "even up"

Either that or we get "that" umpire, who knows it is a painless way to get attention if he penalises us, because most of the commentators still don't know the Swans players names, nor realsise we are playing in the finals!

... which is pretty much how it went last night!

So, as is the case every year, when we play finals in Melbourne, we need to be clearly superior to win ... which just might be!

We had so many clean possessions running through the centre only to see the delivery fall short. We need to hit the leading forwards on the chest when they have 5 metres on their opponents. There was one to Goodes I think from Hanners which was terrible but he did make up for it with a deft right foot pass to ROK. The one that got me was McGlynn. He was all on his own on the wing. It was kicked across to him, Reid led up well clear of his man and McGlynn's kick went at least 5 metres wide of him. Reid made his ground but could not hold onto the diving mark. Should have been lace out on the chest. In the second quarter we had them on toast when we kicked long to the top of the square, but we had those few brain fades that caused quick turnovers from short kicks.

        HAHAHAHAHAHA! I heard that too!

I agree with most others here. No real negatives other than injuries if Hanners and Riders of Rohan don't pull up. The McGlynn handpass to Goodes was awful and Reid's set shot kicking is so much ar odds with the quality of his marking it's frightening. I'd add though that if we start against Hawthorn like we did against St Kilda we could be in real trouble. Our back six dead set carried us for the first 15 minutes.

I didn't pick up on Lane's pronunciation but it's a common misconception that it rhymes with "sour" when it's closer to rhyming with "tour". I should know, I was misguided for more than 20 years !

Negatives - Rohan didn't kick a goal! But he did make up for it with some great chasing and tackling.
