LRT - down back, where he belongs

Great to see LRT playing a great game in defense against the saints.

Thats where he belongs, and he looked very composed and comfortable back there.

We are generally undersized if Richards and Grundy are our key defenders, so we need LRT there in some form.

Anyone who doubts his ability needs to go back and watch the 2005 GF. He still shades Reg IMO.

LRT reminds me of that poster picture of the lighthouse standing tall while the ocean lashes furiously around it.
It's nice to know he can kick a goal when needed, but it's very reassuring to see him mopping up down back. A durable and valuable player.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Completely agree. I'd rate his ruck/forward cameo earlier in the year as "surprisingly good at times", but it's not where he belongs and we all know that was a band-aid solution to the forward line problems. Great to see him leaping and punching out of the back line again.

He filled the whole in front of Reiwoldt.
          Marshalled the troops.
Raced back to the goal square at the throw in.
Looked much more at home in the back line.

I like Reggie a lot but his disposal worries me a hell of a lot more then Lewies.

Agree, he's a very lazy kick, and they tend to go astray.

Hugely reassuring to have the big galoof running around down back. Will need him to man Hale next week.

Reg has become a fixture in our 22 we should be making as few changes as possible to this side. He hasn't played the last 2 games and LRT is the perfect match up for Hale (who will be spending a lot of time at FF if Buddy isn't right).

Unfair as it might be for Reg, them's the breaks. Only replace those who are injured from the 22 on Saturday.

That's why he's Mr Football. He can play anywhere. Great job LRT!

We had 5 blokes down back last night who were cool as cucumbers. Smith, Ted, AJ, Shaw and LRT. We have Tadgh back there who gives us the "oh no's" so I would rather leave Reg out thanks very much. I doubt Reg will play anyway as Glandular Fever causes a lethergy that rarely goes away quickly.

Our backline has always looked better with LRT down at full back. Our structure is as good as it has been for a long time, so now is not the time to meddle with it.

He's kind of a guardian of the backline. Noone is expecting him to actually run. But we know he is there. And that makes us feel safe. Like a genial copper in the backline. Works for me. Actually Saturday's combo down back worked a treat. Repell, repell, repell.
