Swans chat Swans Pre Match Who?

Last night at the Pre match Function.

Last night after a few drinks and some Nibbles
Grubby Stubbs got the crowds attention as usual in his fine fashion, and then out rolled the past players.

Rod Carter, who after working at Collingwood for 5 years is now a teacher.
Dennis Carroll who works at the Swans Academy.
Then finally the Bloods Legend Peter "wheels" Bedford.

The all had a quick chat about the past and the present. And how the current team is fairing, then about tonights (last nights)
    All very interesting.

They also had some one from from some TV reality TV show, that most people didn't seem to interested in.
Like myself, many seemed to have no idea who they were. I'd never heard of them. She wasn't even a swans supporter.

Please don't embarrass us again with these nobodies.
I'll listen to any player or club rep talk, but I draw the line at these people.
It's bad enough we have to see Kenny get his mug on the TV all the time.

The Swans have to realise that a lot of old people get to these functions so the celebrities need to be of a certain vintage so they'll recognise them.

..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

I'm with Scott on this one, as I was last night. "Who?" "What for?" we said to each other, or words to that effect. Anticlimactic, irrelevant and underwhelming.
At least Kenny is a home-grown serial pest.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The boys love Kenny and he loves them. What we think is irrelevant.

He is the resident grandpa of the club, and Mrs Kenny is the resident grandma.

You really have no respect of someone who has a long history with the Club. Someone who has contributed as much to this Club off field as what some players have on.

Swans history will remember Kenny, how do you think you'll be remembered?

Not. And I'll let you know what I think about that at that time. Ummm, no.

                Not.

Well, it's helpful to know that. There I was, thinking what a tolerant bunch our boys are when he's (and Mrs) really another member of the Swans' family.

Will never happen. thus the equality statement.

Anyway this thread was about the other nobodies being interviewed.
I turned to dimelb and continued our conversation ignoring the interview.

                          Unfortunately, that is very true.
