Well I have to say I am not surprised we lost, but I am very surprised we got smashed in the contested possession and smashed in the ruck and smashed in the tackle count when the game was alive. Shocking effort really. They got 8 goals in front...then we kicked five then as soon as they decided to play properly again at the beginning of the 4th quarter we did not have a single possession in the forward half till the clock had got down to 15.30.

I could never barrack for the pies. Ever.

Think they knew from 2nd quarter there's a very good chance it would be their last game of the season

watch last week's game against the aints. ditto the skilled stadium game. Maybe the first half against the Lions at the Gabba. 05 Semi against the Cats. 03 quallie against Port. On repeat maybe. Wash the dog or car. Read Bazza's book.

That sickening looking jolt on Franklin's knee was a blessing in disguise for the Hawks, and the milked it all week. I bet they knew he was fine to play by Monday but let the media run with it to take the attention away from their chances.

I hate all the Melbourne centric crap. I wish for all 8 non Victorian teams to finish in the top 8. All the awards commentary and everything favours Vic teams

What amazed me was that this was our only scoring option from pretty early on and yet we chose not to bomb it into the fifty into the pockets and kept getting caught with poor handballs. Longmire should have just said get the thing forward at all costs scramble move it etc. But we kept trying cute finessing footy

A few things got us. They started off looking lethargic, got going in the third quarter and fell away in the final. We win only when we give a four quarter effort

Really don't understand the logic of taking Hannebery into this game. They must have known his shoulder would pop out because the ligaments would have stretched.

White and Spanger were both pretty useless. Probably most disappointed was that our inability to shut down Gibson in the first half. Murdered us on the rebound. We did not make him accountable. Definitely missing a smaller forward who can play defensive. Would have preferred to see Parker start on the ground and play that role.

The quality of disposal by hand and foot was the difference tonight. Hawthorn are not perfect but the quality of their disposal is in a different league to us.

Oh, and I am thoroughly sick of not getting 50:50 decisions that could do our way and always having them paid when they can go the other way. The umpiring tonight did us no favours.

Overall, happy with the year. They did really well.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Cats are most deserving team left in it. Class from top to bottom. Entitled to implode after Bomber 'did a Lyon' on em last year. Will also leave us with a feather in the cap at having beaten the premier on their dungheap - a small joy for sure, but one to savour.

Weagles also deserve a big tick - if they could find a way to win wouldn't be all bad. And at least they would be winning this one unassisted by 'rocket fuel'.

Pies don't deserve to win - they've put Mick into an early grave when he was quite convinced he wasn't a corpse. And are now being bloody minded enough to not want him to coach next year - just plain nasty towards someone who has served them so well. With so many clubs in dire need of a decent coach, it will be ridiculous that he doesn't coach somewhere next year.

I guess that is Collingwood being Collingwood - has its mouth stuffed full of lollies and both hands full, but will not let another kid have one - even though they've said they don't want it themselves!
