It's an important few years. Probably one year left for Jude, 2-3 for O'Keefe, Shaw, LRT, Mattner, maybe a little more for Richards and Goodes - assuming we don't have anyone poached by GWS or under free agency.

With Hannebery, Kennedy, Smith, Jack and Mummy entering their prime, and Reid and Parker continuing to develop, the window is very much open.

Yep, we should be aiming for fourth next year. Parker should start every game. We really need to get Jetta and TDL in a state to play. Pyke will be a chance to start instead of Jessie next year; we need to be able to give Mumford a bigger break in games. He was courageous again last night of course, but was stuffed. Looking forward to seeing Rohan, Hanners, AJ and Sam with another pre-season under their belt. And of course, Jed Lamb.

As Longmire said in his press-conference, with the compromised draft it's necessary to develop young players you already have. We've got some good ones.

      Top four, absolutely.

Rohan is an excitment machine, didnt do much last night ( was he fit ? ) but what he did got us back in the game. He is gonna be star. Need more game time for Parker next year, sentiment might have to make way. Cant keep playing guys that are just no longer up to it ( eg. Tadgh). Wonder where Nick Malceski fits into all this ? Was he not fit our ot form ? Im a little confused on that. 2-3 years for O'Keefe is a bit generous i think, lets see how he goes next year.....

O'Keefe led the side in possessions, was second in tackles and kicked 17 goals. I'd say two years is reasonable.

He also led the league for "Quick kicks around the corner out of the stoppage to no one in particular" by about a million disposals........

I cant remember the last time I saw ROK spot up a leading forward. His kicks always remind me of a fly-half getting the ball from a ruck and kicking it back over their shoulder so that the backs can run on.
I would like to see ROK finish up in the forwards for his last year or two. He was once brilliant for us there and was a handy foil for the other forwards during our wonder years. Once we have Mitchell and Parker taking responsibility in the mids, I can see ROK giving us a big bonus up there.

Yes I agree. I also think its time for Macca to play HB or HF and leave the Mid to the youngsters.

Dons are a chance to go down too.

Richmond have been on the up for 30 years but never go anywhere. Melbourne have young talent but no leaders and a rookie coach. Freo a chance to push into the 8. North (please, not Norths - they were the bears in the rugby league) could finish anywhere between 5th and 14th. None of them will find it easy to push into the 8 and barring some disaster in our team, there's no obvious reason for us to fall away. Signs are that we should keep improving (more experience into the youngsters and if our older players can hold up).
