    Peter Berbakov

Peter Berbakov has left the Saints and is apparently heading to Sydney.

Anyone remember what he was like, do we want him as an assistant coach?

Is he heading to Sydney Swans or just back to Sydney? You would assume the Swans i guess. Would mean also one of our current guys is going somewhere wouldn't it?

He was an assistant and also our runner for a few seasons. He certainly would have worked with Longmire, so a return to the Swans could be well likely.

He played all his footy under Sheedy at Essendon, so he may be heading a little further west also.

Melbourne are the big winners. Missen is a great get for any club...

Didn't we do a straight swap of Berbakov for Tudor just a year ago?

Seems strange for coaches / staff to be jumping ship so soon after Lyon's departure. Is St Kilda in that much turmoil? Or did Lyon just have a "behind the scenes" charisma that didn't translate to his media appearances?

And don't forget the players that "retired".

It does seem to be a bit of an exodus of a club that has been reasonably successful over the last few years.

If Berbakov is coming back who is leaving? And wouldn't Playfair be a chance of an assistant's spot after his sterling work with the ressies his year?

After Maxfield's clanger on Friday maybe Berbakov has been invited to be runner again. That clanger; we had the footy and Maxfield cannoned into a Hawthorn player. Too slow to be runner in 2012.

I assumed Misson would be part of the package deal with Lyon - he turned the Saints medical room numbers around and Freo could do with some of the same magic.

On SEN today they were talking about it as if Berbakov is coming back to us.

Misson's wife is the headmistress at an exclusive girls school in Melbourne (something like that anyway) which was the reason he left Sydney in the first place. It was a natural fit that he linked with Lyon at StKilda, but his initial move to Melbourne was not based on a desire to follow Lyon, just that his wife had landed this plum job and needed to relocate.

Which is why Misson is staying in Melbourne, at Melbourne...

Eade was on SEN today and said that fitness coaches are more important than assistant coaches. The good ones command $300,000 plus.

Catherine Misson is Principal at Melbourne Girls Grammar (where my 14yo attends). Nice lady. Expensive school. No word of her going anywhere soon.
