    In memory of Luella McVeigh

    Dear fellow RWO members,

Jarrad and Clementine have decided on a possible organisation to preserve the memory of Luella. We have to say possible as Jarrad has indicated that they will make a final decision after their November holidays.

RWO members over the past number of weeks have donated over $550 and donations are still coming in (contact ScottH or Frog if you would like to contribute). I will update this thread when we have further information and will note the final amounts raised and forwarded.

    Thank you to all.

    Cheer, cheer,
    Rick

    Fantastic.
    Poor Maccas.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Just waiting on the club to hear back from the McVeighs as to which charity they wish us to donate the funds we raised to.
      Should be this week.
      I'll keep you all informed.
We raised over $400. Well done people.

That's great but how did over $550 become over $400. (And yes, I get that mathematically both can be true simultaneously. but linguistically it's confusing.)

I think some of them were promises that didn't eventuate.

Apologies to all who have donated.
Frog and myself have been in contact with the Club via Jenny, and she intern with the McVeigh's.
They are still deciding where they want the monies to go.

As soon as they decide we will be transferring the money to them.
It is frustrating, but all parties involved are aware that we have the money. And Jarrad and his wife are very grateful for the generosity.

I will try to keep you informed as much as possible.

I've chased the club again, and they are still awaiting a decision.
                Apologies.

Why can't we set up a bank account for their new child - I would love to do something personal (obviously I understand the rules with money/salary caps, etc.) but there must be a way. Maybe we should have 2 groups that meet & make a DVD of personal messages to them. A donation to a charity seems a bit too easy - can't we do better?
2005 will live forever (or until we win another premiership)

Things that are a good idea at the time don't always work out the way we plan.
We are still waiting to hear back from the club.

Frog and I have done all we can via Jenny. Jarrad is aware of it, but we're still waiting.

Scott, have you thought of donating the money to Heartkids?

I have thought about donating it to somewhere to support kids.
Maybe that is not a bad idea.

If people who kindly donated are happy for this to occur, I'm happy to give it to them in memory of Luella.

Totally agree. Hearkids was the organisation that Jarrad supported in that match held this year which was dedicated to children born with heart problems. Many of us made donations that day in memory of Luella. I suggest you donate the money there and advise Jarrad and Clementine that has been done. I'm sure they will be pleased. And then you will be able to remove this sticky.

Definitely add me to the list, who would be happy to see the donation go to Heartkids.

I think the above is the best idea and unless anyone who has donated has a valid reason why it shouldn't be donated to Heartkids, I will do this next week in Memory of Luella.

                              Donate Form

Once the donation is done, I will send a copy through to the club to let them know, what we have done.
