I wonder if they would have given it to Taigh if all the "retiring" players were actually retiring. Barry Hall is the one that comes to mind.

However, it couldn't have gone to a better player to deliver that speech.

"Kick it down the guts" I think still resonates in ROK's head the way he played for most of this year. That was very funny that bit where he couldn't understand what Eade meant.

The ecstacy and the agony at the end of 2005 for him. To go to one of the highest emotional peaks to one of the lowest just 6 weeks later.

It's a pity that they didn't show the speech on tele last Saturday and we had to listen to politicians instead.

I wonder what he plans to do in the future? Hopefully something close to the Swans.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Not surprising really. A truly class act is our Tadhg.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

A great speech. Could only have been improved with a jig.

You gotta love the Irishman. Would have been great to hear the speech live.

                I'm gunna miss Tiger.
All players slow down at the end of their careers ... that's why they retire.
For a kid who never played our game, you can't say he didn't give us his all.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I reckon we'll be in for a real treat at the B&F. There's still tickets.
Mind you it will likely need to come with a translation.

We can also file this speech under "'No-dickhead policy', sightings thereof".

loved every word of the speech and know that friday night will bring me to tears. I do hope Tadhg will stay involved with the Swans and not go helping another club.
                        Love those Swans

They asked the Irish bloke to give the keynote address at the grand final function?? Someone at the AFL has a sense of humour!

Tadhg did a good job, though. Enjoyed the read! I think sometimes we forget just how difficult his journey was...
