I wouldn't get too carried away with this footage, or even a 6 goal haul. There's a bloke called Trent Dennis Lane kicking bags of goals in the two's but you certainly wouldn't make a whole lot of noise about him being a key position player.

Walsh is leading into space in most of this footage, marking uncontested. I've seen Jessie White do the same. At least Lynch seems to know where the goals are.

No reason why we can't have two big men down there, with White second ruckman.

Big difference in the leagues both players were playing in.

I wouln't imagine our reserves wld go too well in the VFL. We'll be carrying three big men in the forward line next year, two forwards and a ruck backup. I imagine this would be between Jessie and LRT. Hard to imagine the club signing LRT for another 2 years if they thought he was past it?????? The other 3 spots in the forward line will be taken by rotating midfielders like Benny, ROK, Goodes and Bolton. I imagine Bolts will spend more time in the forward half next year, getting older. Can't see TDL getting many games. At least we will now have some options in the forward line, young blokes who will bust a gut to get a game
You can't argue with a sick mind - Joe Walsh

Jessie White has already played more than fifty senior games and he seems just as lost out there as he was when he started. Reid and Spangher (having both been recruited as defenders) have already gone past him and Walsh will probably do the same. If we must persist with him, we should invoke the old "ratbags to the backline" rule.

However, I wouldn't be optimistic even then.

I'm confused, why are we talking about Lynch?

I dont see it as a White Vs Walsh contest I think Walsh could develop into the CHB we have really been looking for. Heath had a shocker last year even allowing sickness etc, if Walsh could hold down CHB we start to look very decent down the spine.
White, Reid and Morton provided Mitch can get himself fit looks a decent start to our FWD line. I really believe Jesse is just lacking confidence and a early haul of 5 -6 goals could really turn things around for him. Unlike some who say he looks dumb or lost, to me is a sign of of lack of confidence, Jesse showed early on (the season along side BBH) he does have the skill and nous required to play FF, maybe the expectation of replacing BBH was too much to early for him?

I would like to make a self nomination to be the Driver of the Jesse White bandwagon (im also well known for my part in " defend LRT to the hilt" and I played a cameo in "Moore is too slow and will not make it" but I did eat plates of Humble pie for my part in "McVeigh is a hack" a couple of seasons ago) I hope you all agree I have the credentials required to drive Jesse's bandwagon. You are all welcome to jump on as the season 2012 progresses there are plenty of vacant seats avaliable and just think wouldnt it be great if Jesse does have a breakout season, Mitch gets his act together and Walsh becomes the next best CHB in the comp.

Twelve months ago I'd have taken on the co-pilots role but Jesse did my head in last season, so for the time being I'll be one of those on the side of the road laughing at the rickety wheels on your wagon (but save me a seat just in case)!

Good onya Waz, put it in as your signature and I'll make a tentative booking for a seat. I too have been on with Jesse, then off, then cautiously back on again. I also think of it as a confidence issue rather than skills; I really liked his goal against Scarlett when we beat Geelong and he dropped the mark but recovered and outbustled one of the league's best defenders. I don't want him in the ruck, much prefer Pyke with Mummy, but I'd like to see him as part of the forward/midfield rotation; he's a fearsome proposition and he has quite a nifty handball, and perhaps it would help his apparent focus problem. It paid off for Geelong to give Hawkins as much time as he needed - and he needed a fair bit - but after the GF I must admit he's not the spud I thought he was. Let's see if we can do the same for Jesse.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Right, I'm in too. I've never won a competition, or anything at the pokies, and my cricket team last year never won a game (in fact won nothing since I joined). I feel like I am due for a change. Things have to change, don't they? Tell me they will. Sign me up for the bandwagon as I love to champion lost causes and I want to be able to laugh at all of the doubters at the end of the season. Jesse White will not just survive, but will prosper. I just know it. I know I jumped off him this last season and declared him a spud, but now all is forgiven. Roll on 2012.

Well I have been plugging along on the Jesse wagon for a while, jumped off and flung my membership to the ground and stomped on it, picked it up, put it in my back pocket just in case I needed it again, spoke to Jesse at the B&F, am back on it again with one foot on the running board (define running board, you will have to ask your grandpa about it). I know he needs our support, he is more than a bit down on himself. I think he has the heart, but whether the ankles.....sheesh, don't know whether to hug him or hit him!
