I hope this game doesn't count in the few we Melbourne members get with our membership. Going to Kardinia Park is bad enough!

      Me too!!
But then I'd prefer a trip to Tassie than Geelong.

If the Club get there act together and get some cheap deals for us down to Tassie we could make it OUR home ground advantage!!

Wow, how truly amazing. Never thought we would see the Swans down here, as one would think that Melbourne fans should rightly get as many games as possible.

Our one and only sighting so far has been a ........ whatever game in Feb about 2008. I went along with the only 2 other Swans fans I know, expecting to see a bit of red and white amongst a sea of brown and yellow. Imagine our surprise, make that shock, to find there was red and white every where - banners, the lot. I think every Swans fan in Tassie crawled out from under their rock that day. Despite it being thongs and shorts weather, my Swans scarf had its first outing ever, draped around my bag. One of my friends wore his 'cat in the hat' red and white hat, which was a bit embarrasing, but what the heck.

I reckon of the 8,000 or so at the game at least half were Swans fans. So there you go, Tassie Swans' fans will be very happy if this turns out to be true.

I'd be up for a visit to Lonnie (spelling???) - it's a nice place with good pubs etc - worth making a long weekend of it....

The weekend of the fitness conference in Sydney and just before I head overseas - would have liked a trip to Tasmania too.

Pull your head out of your backside, it's a beautiful state 50mins from Melbourne and better than a trip to WA or the MCG for the annual flogging. I'd rather practice on Melbourne and Richmond there.

I'm booking long weekend flights with all my dawk supporter mates. Will get some home cooking off Nan whilst i'm down there

              /Tasmanian with his back up...

Alot of Souths supporters down there, it's how I came to be one. Dad did the usual head over to the mainland stint in the 70's, followed Souths whilst in Melbourne and returned to Tassie a die hard.

Sadly that day you speak of was when Mal did his 2nd ACL....

Surely this will be at the SCG and not ANZ?? I assume they would play GWS at ANZ in round 18??

Personally I quite enjoy the stroll across the road to KP. Especially when we win.

I think it's cool - I have many reasons I want to see Tassie (almost every really interesting history I read of Australia winds up having its best bits there; do some wildlife peeping; bushwalking, etc), but as a horrible procrastinator (I'll tell you about that some other time) it usually takes one over-the-top kick to get me to up and plan a trip. This could be the kick!

Before the gets out of hand it's:

Launceston and it pronounced Lon-ceston not Lawn-ceston.

                            Ok I feel better.

It's a fantastic place, beautiful scenery, history, food, wine and animals. The people are friendly (unless your a knob). It's pricey at times, but that's the price of having most things imported from the mainland.
