As much as I loved Bolts, Dunkley has it hands down.

Bolton for mine. Had a profound effect on the club both on field and off it.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

Stuart Magee would have to be up there with Dunks and C Bolts.

Stuart Magee, who played as a centreman and rover, made his debut for South Melbourne in 1962. By 1966 he was representing Victoria at interstate football but soon after he lost his way and was let go by South Melbourne. He was signed up by Footscray and became captain of the club during the 1970 season. In 1976 he moved to the WANFL and joined the Swan Districts as captain-coach.

Silvio Foschini - fast, brave .... pity he was part of the long history of player exchanges between the Swans & the Saints!

How long until we get to Best Swan to Wear #60?! Craig Davis is a shoe-in for that one!

Dunkley was playing when I was a bit younger so I'm gonna say C. Bolton, we really missed him when he went down.

I reckon he was over rated. I always felt he wasn't hard enough at the footy which was unfortunately part of our problem with a lot of our players of that era. If only they all had the heart of Skilton. IIRC Magee got poleaxed one day and was never the same.

Was only a kid at the time, but I loved watching Colin Hounsell and Silvio Foschini.

But the best would be Dunkley, followed by Bolts.

Bolton for me, just ahead of Dunkley.

Wonderfully versatile player who was competitive against the likes of Franklin but could also shut down a Le Cras. Twice All Australian (though Dunks was "robbed" of this in 1996) and a leader of the team. Also one of a handful of recent senior Swans who have quietly gone about making a contribution to the community outside of football (which may not be a criteria in determing "best player" but is highly admirable nonetheless).

Can't split Bolts and Dunks really.

One of the greatest things I've seen on a football field is Dunkley slotting a goal from 55m out. Probably the best shut down defender I've seen, but he was hardly the full package. He was a cult hero.

CBolton on the other hand was the full package, and did it all while undersize. AA CHB...thank you very much.
The eternal connundrum "what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object" was finally solved when David Hasselhoff punched himself in the face.

Yep, I feel the same. Dunks was a wonderful defender but CBolts was just fantastic. One of my top 5 favourite Swans.
