Naturally I just had to look. Kind of agree - all a bit too open isn't it. I'll post Jenny an alert. Don't think to PC, not in this day and age.

What are you talking about? He was heaps PC. he didn't even mention the race!

I'd probably just confiscate his phone.

Nothing much in it IMO - but he should have been ultra-super careful - as a public figure representing an organisation, you can't just say whatever you like.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Maybe just leave the policing to the club?

I agree. However sometimes you have to take a gentle stand, quietly alert, and leave it up to the PTB to assess a PC situation rather than leave a teenager to potentially stuff up - its up to the club now.

The words 'non Australian' were absolutely unnecessary to the story; making a point of that is a touch inappropriate. I'm sure there was nothing in it, but he needs to be a little more careful with what he puts in the public domain.

Bet he's got the message from the club already.

Other than the fact he brought someone's race into comment when it wasn't necessary? I'm not outraged or anything, but it could be interpreted as underlying a particular sentiment he may hold...

Totally agree with you Captain, if that's the worst thing I hear or read this weekend I'll be happy.
I was imagining much worse when I first read the comments.

I get what you're saying Primmy, and the post was ordinary at best. I guess I'm saying that a) I'm sure the club keeps a close eye - easy enough to "follow" all the players on Twitter - and b) I'm not sure Jenny should be made responsible for responding to the boys' social media activity, especially when you/we could always just reply directly.

Can I just say that while I understand it's part and parcel of being a professional sportsperson these days, I am SOOOOO happy nobody was watching/recording my every move at that age? (Or at this age!)

(PS - Footy + wine + internet access = DANGER WIL ROBINSON!)

God I hate political correctness, it was probably started by some self righteous, self indulgent, self centred wanker who thought he coulf make a few bucks in a courtroom somewhere. Now it's a freakin epidemic of complete bull@@@@. On the news this morning I saw an Aussie guy trying to sue because someone said g'day mate to him in England, RACISM my ass
