    2012 guernsey numbers

Finally have confirmation for one of the new recruits. Tadgh has asked Tommy to wear his number, and he accepted according to the latest Goodes interview on the website. 1 down, 5 to go I believe

That was Walsh, I assumed. Actually, on closer inspection, the other photo of Walsh has him wearing a couple of wristbands, which the 17 photo doesn't have, so you're probably correct.

Come to think of it, that's going to be really annoying next year. They look far too similar, and if they're both playing up forward, it will be hard enough for us to keep track of them, let alone commentators. Reid has broader shoulders and a different number, but that's about it!
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

Reid also has the face of a choir boy and Walsh looks like a bit of a bruiser. I think we the fans could be ok.

Definitely Reid as Primmy says the choirboy face compared to the Baz look. I was a bit surprised as I also thought Walsh would be 17 too but maybe he wants another number.

I think evidence in the form of Goodes' comments is more compelling than the guernseys they happened to be wearing in a knock-around game at training.

Goodes' comment? I don't seem to remember the comment Liz. Maybe you would be good enough to enlighten me.

I don't think you can read much into what numbers they were wearing against a couple of Paul Kelly Cup teams!

Cruel! That solves that. There was also something written somewhere that existing players would not be changing numbers. But if they did change there would be; 6, 10, 19, 22, 23 and 28 under 30 available, also available to the newbys of course. Could probably expect Tom Mitchell to wear 10.

Logically Tom might take 10 but he maybe of the view to take a number without the historical baggage of it being his fathers.

Could understand if he decided to do that. Very hard to be seen to walk always in dads footsteps for any of us. I have personal experience of this from my father. His father was a great cricketer and footballer and he was expected to rise to his standard. He never did but he wasn't a bad spin bowler and a fair bat but of course to the older fans that was never good enough. Good luck to Tom I hope our fans don't start comparing him to dad.
