    The return of the torp

Let's hope so. Crows players were using it on the weekend to beat the press - Brenton Sanderson's new game plan.

A video of great torp moments here, including Braddie's barrel:

As frequently happens, when football coaches and players sit down to ponder how to beat any challenges that the game (and, indeed, life itself) presents them they have come to the same thought- "what would Davo do?".

Here's some classic footage from a great year, when the great man grabbed the initiative to find a way to get the ball out of a packed defensive 50. Go to the 12 minute mark to see what unfolds.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Yeah, so I started watching at the beginning and promptly shelved any idea of advancing to the 12 minute mark. I don't remember that Davo torp, but after watching this, I do remember that moment when Dempster picked it up after Cox wins the centre bounce. When he got his hands on the ball, I remember thinking "here's our chance" because he had such a long kick. Sadly, he had to run wide and couldn't position properly.

Well maybe not sadly, we did win the flag that year, didn't we?
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

I got sucked into watching that, too. Great to see that fabulous Davo barrel again.
