Who would you consider trading for young Ben? I think the experienced players in our team like Goodes, Shaw, Bolts, ROK, LRT and Teddy probably know they might not play in another premiership but are trying to develop the new guys to be the next Premier Swans.

i just had a good look at our list and quite frankly it is young when you take out all of the above and Seabs, Macca, Mal and Benny. Wow we are a young list. In the next two years we are going to lose all the guys up top and maybe some on the second line. Maybe not the second line! They will be the main people pushing a premiership and the young guys will be two years older and wow we will have real talent!!!2014 we are going to be awesome!!!! Even next year because these new blokes are such talents, they can deliver and kick goals, they can also defend!!

It is a possibility, now they have signed up pendlebury their obvious next ambition is to sign up cloke, which surely would come at a cost and they lose someone like reid. Id have no idea how we would get a suitable trade done though.

So we have two tall forwards who have no trouble pulling down the big ones, but can't kick. give me someone like Davis who can kick to help Reid in his head space. Reid's problem is all between the ears and the ball drop for that terrible kick on Sat night proved that.

The trouble with Cloke is a restricted free agent and will be costly. Reid isn't even that and will be even more costly. One to two draft picks plus a good player going their way I should think. Are we willing to part with our first two draft picks and a top player?

we need another defender to push forward so he would be idea.

As long as they dont ever get Sam so they can play together.

I would love us to get Ben, but I cant see it happening unless they are the new Rocca Brothers.

Cloke has resolved his kicking issues 69 goals 48 points last year pretty good return at 59.3% and higher percentage of completion then buddy who had 82.61 at 57.0%.

in 2010 cloke was kicking goals at 48.7% so pretty good improvement.

Improvement but as Wayne Carey said on One a Specialist Forward really should be shooting 60% or more. I think Sam's is very low like 28 or 38%. Yes he has improved but not enough Carey reckons that Specialist Forwards in Premiership teams generally shoot more than 60%. I know both Buddy and Cloke have played in premiership teams. In Buddy's case he kicks so many scores he is going to hurt you anyway. With Cloke I don't think he hurts you any near as much as Buddy even though Buddy's % is lower as he doesn't kick anywhere as many scores. But imagine if Buddy was kicking at over 60% the Hawks would be unbeatable.

Reid got his butt kicked by Buddy last night. I'm not all that impressed with him.

Won't be the first defender that happens to this year. However I'm not as enthused about Ben Reid as some others on here. Still that could be because of the prison jumper he wears each weekend.

If Reid was playing one out against Buddy then his coach is an idiot. Last year we used two players on him one when he was deep in the forwardline and one when he went for a run down the ground. It still did us little good but other teams do the same thing and sometimes it works. He has a huge engine and is so quick the most talls can't go with him. Rotating between a tall and a tall winger type on him is the only way to at least manage the damage. It is my opinion that he may just be the most versatile full forward ever, he can play mids, back and forward and he hurts opposition every time. I pity whoever draws the short straw and has to stand him

My impression was that he found it hard to get into the game at first, then had a spell in the midfield and was nearly as destructive as Goodes. Very dangerous player.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
