Rd 1 - Swans' loudest & proudest supporters needed!

    Hi All,

I need a favour... Channel 7 have asked us to find 25 of our loudest, most passionate members and supporters to appear behind the broadcast in the lead up to Saturday night's match. When looking for 25 of our boldest, loudest supporters - I knew exactly where to turn! (I'm under strict instructions for 'no shrinking violets!').

If you're interested in cheering for the Red and White as they go in and out of the commercial break etc. before the game gets underway, please meet me in the Sydney Swans Member's Bar behind Aisle 126 at 5.45pm. Everything will be finished up by around 7.15, so you won't miss the start of the match.

We will be going deep into GWS territory for the filming, so be prepared to stand your ground as a member of Sydney's Team! I'll be right there with you in the trenches!

    Jenny

Just tell Channel 7 to be at the front gates at 3:45 when about 100 loud and proud people will be lining up for the dash to their seats for the 3:50 start for the ressies.

New team, new beginning, but same old @@@@ when it comes to opening gate times....

      Match information
      3.45pm? Gates open
3.50pm ? Preliminary game ? UWS Giants v Sydney Swans
      7.20pm ? GWS Giants v Sydney Swans
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09

What's the point of even having a start time for the ressies? It's inevitable that the game will be cancelled and moved to another ground an hour before its scheduled to start. Happened most of last year and already happening this year

I am going to record this match, so I will view this segment of the broadcast and I expect RWOers to identify themselves on here next week...

I'll bring my Collingwood supporting, half blind father and my shy nephew around to aisle 126 and we'll have a party.

Weather report looks promising so as long as no one spits or spills a drink on the ground the Ressies should go ahead as scheduled.

                  Jenny,

I understand that it's a GWS home game, but is there any way of finding out if there is any tribute planned for Jim Stynes on the night?

                  Thanks,

                  Sam

Great question. If there is to be one, I'd like to humbly suggest that we honour him with a minute's applause, not a minute's silence. They've taken to it in the UK on occasions and it's a wonderful way to commemorate someone's life rather than quietly honouring their passing.

                      Hi Xie Shan,

Swans players will wear black armbands on Saturday night for Jim. GWS have also advised that there will be a minute silence before the match starts.

I love that idea Doctor. A minute's applause would be a very fitting tribute to Jim. It's out of our hands this week, but I'll be sure to pass it on to our match day staff for them to keep in mind for the future.

Someone should make a red and white banner that simply says: "RIP Jimmy Stynes"

As I stated in the other thread.

This may well be a GWS home game but I want to see a sea of red & white outnumber the plastic folk in charcoal and orange.

The games I've been to at ANZ have been embarrassing at times as we've almost been outnumber by opposition supporters.

The Collingwood game in 2010 was embarrassing as the ferals from Victoria Park well and truly outnumbered us.
