RIP - On the Couch - Jim Stynes question

On tonight's show, Mike Sheehan asked Andrew Demetriou whether he would confirm if it was true that Jim was very gravely ill right now.

Andrew didn't really answer the question.

Very sad not just for his family but I'm not sure if words could describe his achievements in helping others and inspiring the young and homeless.

You can only hope of a miracle for such an extraordinary man.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

A great player, and a true gentleman of the game, taken from us too early.
RIP Jim Stynes. Condolences to his family and friends.

I was shocked to hear the news this morning.

Ch 7 reported that he passed away at 8:20am.

They say that the greatness of a man is not measured bythe amount of people he knew whilst he was alive but by the amount of people who remember him when he's gone.

Jim Stynes will be remembered by many for a very long time.

So sad for his wife and his two young children.

                  RIP Jim Stynes.

A man who was more than a great footballer but genuinely tried to help a lot of people less fortunate than himself.

I didn't expect to be as hard hit by this news as I was when I read it, particularly given it hasn't come out of the blue. But it really shook me up when I heard about it.

He is a man whose time has been cut cruelly short but who has achieved more than most do in twice the lifetime. His contribution to AFL and to Australian society has been substantial and he will be remembered with respect.

                      Very sad news.

To have lived for almost three years with Stage 4 cancer says a lot about Jim Stynes' courage and determination.

Condolences to his wife, young children, family and friends.

Yeah a true legend, a huge loss for not only his family but the whole AFL and the community in general. I too was hit hard by the news, even though unfortuneately it was only a matter of time. RIP Jimmy and condolences to his family.

He did it..there are floods of tears here.....I havent cried for months and months ( and those of you who know my battle with depression will realise this is a really good thing),,and lo and behold as Liz said I have been surprised at the depth of my reaction...knew it was coming etc...but still devastated....He had the gift of communication which is severely under-rated and was intuitive in his ability to connect with people. A rare gift. Blubber blubber blubber here in Ulverstone.
