    Brett Kirk on ch 7

Im in a bit of a downer after having listened to kirky for the past 3 rounds on ch 7.

The aura, the respect and everything else i have for him is disappearing really fast with each footy telecast he appears in. No doubt i loved him when he was at the swans but he now comes across as too anthony robbins for my liking. I can handle that people want to remain positive and when something negative happens they look at the positives in that, but Brett Kirk takes it to another level.

If i had to put up with his personality daily i would seriously leave. Now i understand why people like Nick Davis and Barry Hall couldn't handle kirky in large doses.

It's a shame because he is losing respect by each passing week.

He is a good boundary rider as he knows how to ask questions..but this:

    No Brett..just no.

PS mods i didnt know where to put this thread since kirky is a legend of the club and all that.

I love Kirky as much as any Swan fan but have to agree with WHTG here. As an old journo watching this and most of his interviews I cringe. His efforts are far more Dorothy Dix than Dorothy Parker.

Don't think he'll last long. His heart doesn't look in it.

Yep, I am starting not to listen to him now. I smell the blood of a sacred cow somewhere, though.

That is GOLD. I'll have some of what he is having. Dare to be different is his motto and he is living it.

Sometimes you don't need to reinvent the wheel though. But, maybe he thinks he needs too and i accept that. Good luck to him. He'll get better at it.

Maybe Kirky's personality is just one of those that doesn't transfer through the tv screens as well? It takes a particular person to be a tv presenter/commentator.

If he was some retired dude from another team I would probably be giving it to him though!

Great man, great Captain, not a great TV personality. At least he had a crack though, but did anyone really think he was going to be the next ( insert your favourite Footy personality here ) ? I didnt.

That did look a little scripted, forced even. But give the guy a break, he's just starting out in this new boundary-rider role. If this follows his footy career he'll be borderline for the first couple of seasons, but eventually indespensible.

Besides, him & Roos are the only guys in TV representing the Swans. We need that list to grow, not shrink!
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!

He's a bit of an acquired taste no doubt. Channel 7 may regret this appointment, but I still love Kirky and I can't see that diminishing over time. Paul Roos commentary in Swans games is really giving me the @@@@s though. Could he at least try to be impartial? I tend to turn the commentary off matches anyway so perhaps my image of them both will be pretty untarnished. Remember all the good times people, and forgive them for the subsequent media contributions.

I just wish both roosy and kirk would not have accepted roles in the media. Roosy is just sounding exactly the same as when he had his first stint with plugger in 2001..biased and arrogant. The same as when he is on the couch.

It's a shame because two of the most respected people in footy are fast losing that respect. There is a strong dislike for Roos atm.

And yes please Paul..be impartial when we are playing and stop referring to the players as the nickname you have for them when you are at the club.

I, for one, would love to see a footy show hosted by Kells and Plugger, with 'Tilt' Carter doing the colour.

I don't know if BT replacing the other idiot quarterbrain was a good thing. BT is just a moron with a huge ego.

LOL can imagine the country banter between them both. Are they still best buddies like they were 10 or so years ago?

Imagine the tilt trying to read the cue cards..ay chiwa waaa how comical!
