    Footy Classified 30th April 2012

I was watching Footy Classified last night and I almost fell out of bed when they went into the culture of the Sydney Swans.

After bagging Hutchy for saying the Swans would slip dopwn the ladder Grant Thomas made the statement, "You could send anyone to the Sydney Swans and they would become a better person and a better player as a result."

It appears that the press are taking us seriously, especially after the win on Sunday.

I made mention of this on another thread, send all your kids to Sydney mums and dads, the club makes them better players and people, Grant must really like us

It was an interesting observation by Thomas, as he said, you only have to look at the results.....

I didn't watch the show but, as a fourpeat father, I'd suspect that parents with boys in the draft would hold no fears about having their offspring picked by the Swannies.

Mostly Hawks speak, but contains Thomas' praise of the swans system

That bit about Kirk at the end was quite funny.

            Love ya, Kirky!

Grant Thomas most likely heard someone else say that first. Normally he just repeats the BS that others have said, this time however he must have spoken to an intelligent person, which rules out most in the media. Must have been a Swans supporter

So if Grant Thomas came to Sydney, would he become a better person? One second thoughts, doesn't warrant contemplation.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Glad you said that! I might have to relocate to my new favourite town Launceston!

Wow. The Swans really are quite the flavour of the month. It's a little surreal, to be honest. The media, talking us up? Us? There was even a double page spread on the inside back page of the Tele today featuring our 'recycled' players. And it's only Tuesday!

Yes they are really frothing over us aren't they? I hope we're as good as everyone now says we are. What is it this year with a new team getting pumped up after every round? I'm sure we won't be the last at this rate. It's quite bizarre.

I am a bit bewildered by all this attention. Wonder if it will go to my head.

I'll let you know. I am going out in public tomorrow wearing my swans scarf and carrying a pen ready to sign any autograph required of me. I was not able to run off any photos to give away, but.....

Entirely right! The clubs who have a bad reputation are Thomas' own Saints, Crows, Power, up until a few years ago Pies and you would have to worry about the culture at the Eagles after Cousins.

Why Crows & Power? There have been many incidents in nightclubs and pubs over the years especially when players from both sides are in the same club.

Yes, it leaves us with little to complain about, certainly I hope they find a new team to spruik about next week, it's a bit uncomfortable all this raving about how good we are, teams will start to hunt us. Looks like the team aren't buying the hype though. I already tried the Swans gear down here in Wollongong, they all thought I was a St George league fan pffft
