    Alex Starling

Anyone heard anything more about this US import bloke? Silent since March.

Knocked out by one of Sammy's shots on goal, whilst walking down the street in Florida.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Last seen with Bird and the Swallow brothers. Thought he'd put in an appearance for the Crows game, though.

I think I read somewhere that he was finishing his senior year at his US college. He has a blog somewhere on the swans website, I think.

            Well he is paying attention.
He retweeted this thread on twitter this afternoon.

Has also retweeted various swans tweets over the past months

There's a link on his blog at USAFL that has his twitter account as superbstarling

superbstarling!!! Good Bloody Grief! That will get knocked out of him. I checked for him on Twitter, saw that name and thought noone could be that bloody big headed stupid! Guess I was wrong. Or am I missing a subtle point of humour here. Hmm? Anyone?

Yes it is wanky, but in the states most twitter account names are gone. I guess he would have been struggling and is young. Goodbloodygriefstarling would maybe have been available though!

This post didn't seem to get a lot of love, but I laughed/groaned...lol

I don't have a problem with 'superb' - its the sort of confidence our newbies will need next year if they're going to have any impact in getting into our superb team and helping us to go back to back in 2013....

Just a cultural difference I reckon Primmy. In the US it's the done thing for sportsmen to talk themselves up and have a bit of front whilst in our culture this is frowned upon and players always talk themselves down. I remember Mike Pyke commenting about this difference in an interview.
