I would expect he would turn up to the club in the next week with the end of semester. I would try and give him a run in local footy

Alex Starling blogs his time in Oz last year.

Roosy, Smitty, Goodesy - he's getting the hang of things.

Saw a comment on Twitter from him last week and asked him when he expected to be here.
He replied that "June if all goes well, and that he can't wait to get back down here".
I wished him every success and told him he was linking with a great club, great players and great supporters.
Replied that he'd been told that a lot and was excited.

That was kind of you, but wouldn't it have been more fun to say: "Don't believe all those stories you hear. They still haven't found the body"?

Good luck to him. I wouldn't write him off when you think of Pyke, Hunt and Folau transitions.

Any thoughts on why he's wearing a dress? Is that the native attire of Florida?

I think you will find he is finishing school first before joining the mob. He will be starting from dot, having never played a single game at all, so absolutely no games reggi. think Mike, but no season or preseason, and Mike played union. Alex is a basketballer.

Thought I'd update with all the draft talk and events.
Starling tweeted yesterday that it now look like next year before he gets down here.
Maybe starting to sound like smoke and mirrors, but i hope not!

Basketball background, Alex should have good hands
But Mike was a TALL ruckman who could tackle, run fast & hand good hands.
Alex = experiment ... Sanford Wheeler is working over in California, he should mentor Alex til he gets here

Maybe more cold feet? Its probably a bit more daunting now that the club won the Granny and we are still front page news (more or less). He can't have helped but notice that MikePyke was considered a joke by some, and that it took him four years to get his head around the game and then to get any kudos outside the club.

Never very taken with this kid royboy. Which is unusual. I am normally very willing to look first and then have an opinion. Just felt that he thought he could "arrive", and take the game to a new level. Know what I mean? Just my impression.
