Never very taken with this kid royboy. Which is unusual. I am normally very willing to look first and then have an opinion. Just felt that he thought he could "arrive", and take the game to a new level. Know what I mean? Just my impression.
I might just reserve my opinion till he has done a few sessions (if he ever does!)

Starling tweeted yesterday that it now look like next year before he gets down here.
Maybe starting to sound like smoke and mirrors, but i hope not!
That's disappointing news.. sounds like something that will never happen. I wonder what happened to cause a year 'delay'.

Next year is only a month away, mabe it didnt make sence to fly half way around the world only to fly back 3 weeks later.

This makes sense, since Starling is a serious Christian and would want to spend Christmas with his family. How many airfares can the Swans afford after the kind of money they will be paying Tippett?

Yep, they'll be jogging to Melbourne as part of their match preparation.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

There was just an article about Eric Wallace, one of the American's vying for a spot on an AFL list, now trialing with North Melbourne. The article said "There is no deadline for clubs to recruit international rookies." North are planning to make a decision on him by Christmas.

What does this mean about Alex Starling? Has he or has he not in fact signed with the Swans? What does it mean if his name is not mentioned tomorrow? It would seem that for international rookies, Tuesday is not a day of reckoning. The lack of news about Startling, except some tweet that he thinks he is coming here next year, makes it very unclear what is happening with him. You would think that the club would make an announcement one way or he other.

I was just this minute thinking about that. I'll give Jenny a poke and see if she can rustle up something for us.

Not all Christians take Christmas seriously, but I take your point. We'll just have to wait and see what Primmy's poking achieves

Just read on the AFL iPhone app that we have passed on him.

He hasn't overcome as we'd hoped a leg stress fracture over the past 12 months. We will monitor his progress for next year.

That explains why there has been so little news and he has been apparently cagey about when he was coming over.

Noted that the article starts with... "With the December 21 deadline to list international rookies looming..."

Not too worried either way from a Swans perspective. Shame for him that he has such a serious injury.
