As Horse says - "It is what it is". So let's move on. I'm happy with 5-2.
Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

Sounds like we're gearing up for yet another 6th to 8th on the ladder with a one week final appearance already, given the back half of our draw is a lot harder.

I agree every game between here and the bye round will decide whether or not we play finals and at which position, we will never be a top 4 team if we lose games like we have. Adelaide was dreadful almost threw the game in the first quarter and then to somehow get back was a awesome effort but it proved too hard, then richmond 6 goals down in the first quarter we were never gonna come back after doing the same thing the last two weeks.

Also, there is a lot of argument atm about head high tackles in the afl and ducking, from what i saw against richmond, sydney players when they were tackling they were going for the hips but saying this 7 times out of 10 the richmond player would just raise his hands and shoot off a handball to one of his teammates. I can remember dermott talking about it a couple of weeks ago after our hawthorn game and it seems to me it is one extreme or the other because tackling them low wasn't working on the weekend. The players didn't pin the oppositions arms and it made disposing of the ball really easy.

Brereton gave what I thought was a fantastic demonstration of the tackling/ head high contact issue on League Teams last Thursday. He explained exactly why players don't tackle low round the hips - which is as you say because it is too easy for the opponent to get their arms free and fire off a handball. He then demonstrated the techniques that players are starting to use to draw high frees. When you see footage in real time it is often hard to see whether the player has deliberately contributed to the high contact because eveything moves so quickly. But he showed how the techniques work in slow motion.

I know Dermie isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I think he has a great knack of explaining simply some quite technical aspects of the game that you would need a highly attuned eye to spot yourself.

Not a very good game, was it?

Don't worry ... Prince was just as bad.

Onwards and upwards. There's always next week.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

I agree. They should go to the MCG via Perth.

Brereton's explaination was very accurate last Thursday Night but the Swans can't tackle. I think it's a non NSW origin player thing.

Look at Hunt. He tackles. The players from Victoria, SA and WA just cant tackle.

I'm glad everyone is being nice to each other now. I wasn't going to post in that environment.

I have had 2 days to think about the game and get my anger out of my system and now I'm ready to post.

Johnston played a great game under very difficult conditions. He was my BOG. We had a few other players that tried hard, such as Ted, Reg and Joey.

But we had a few that should not be playing senior football next week. I will start with Rhys Shaw. He has been very good this season, but on Saturday, he was terrible. Gave away silly frees, disposal was poor, but what bugged me most was his body language towards other players. Obviously, couldn't hear what was spoken, but the players he was addressing didn't take it too well.

My comments about White and Everitt will best be unspoken, but the quicker we get rid of those two from our forward line, the better.

And it seemed like only yesterday that I was reading articles about the embarrassment of riches in the Swans forward line.

I know what the problem is. We were winning when noone noticed we existed and we crapped on about it (ok, I crapped on about it). Now that we are playing pooey footy, maybe things will all come together?

On the tackle 'issue' of slinging players heads into the turf; Taylor Walker got two weeks for doing technically the same tackle as Nahas did on Smith on the weekend (although I would say Nahas' actually looked worse or more 'illegal') yet Nahas gets off scott free. The MRP is maddening!!! They need to get some consistency and sort their @@@@ out because I for one am sick of their stupid decisions.

And before anyone says Walker was suspended because Harry got injured, an Essendon player (I think it was Lovett Murray but I'm not 100% sure) left a WC player on the weekend with concussion from a tackle and he got nothing.

That's correct - just ask Gary Rohan...

On TDL ( I forgot about this earlier ) . I managed to get in a pretty raucous "everywhere I go , people wanna know, what is my name, Trent Dennis Lane " chant with a pretty good echo from my mates after his last qtr goal. It was pretty darn funny, even the Tiges fans thought so. About the only enjoyable part of the night for me lol.
