    Our miserable defence

Looking at the ladder this morning (a pleasurable task at the minute) I noticed that our defence has the lowest number kicked against it by quite a margin.

574 against us, the nearest being Freo on 627.

Wouldn't go as far as to say unsung heroes, but heroes nonetheless!

The fact that North are second in the comp in points for, but 12th on the ladder, and we are 5th in that category shows the enormous value of a tough backline.

    Keep it up lads!

I don't know, they seem like a happy bunch to me.

Mark Robinson was tweeting for suggestions to an AA side after Rd8. I said Teddy had to be picked somewhere in the backline. I reckon he's close to our most important player at the moment.

Whatever happened to the "Improving your contribution" thread from about 2005ish?

Been great, the two times he's beaten we've lost which says something.

The defence still has problems containing big forwards; if they are out one on one it is very hard for us to combat. Nevertheless they have done really well so far. Very no nonsense about their work, but they are probably our most reliable unit. It's definitely thanks to them that we have the best percentage in the league. That should hold us in good stead given the ladder congestion.

Gotta love our back six. Biggest score against is 99, and that was Adelaide who just booted Carlton by a lot more than that. Keeping the combination together has been very important, as has the individual effort of the players. Teddy would have to be just about the best FB going around wouldn't he? Not that I'm a one eyed Swans supporter lol. Talk of dropping Reg is just silly, has taken teh most marks in the team, regularly out marks big forwards. Cloke scares me though, along with teh Essendon forward line and WC if they decide to put big Cox up there. We need to get our forward line settled and structured to achieve the good results

We are the only team in the comp that has not had 100 kicked against them so far!
