    Round 9 - St.Kilda

If we're really serious about finishing in the top 4, then we've got to approach this match against St. Kilda as a "must-win".

The Saints are coming off a loss against the Eagles in Perth, and we're coming off a soft win against the Demons. But St. Kilda's percentage is still pretty good.

So we'd better make sure we're switched on before we even get on the plane, because this will be a challenging game, and we can't afford any more of the rubbish that was dished up against Richmond.

Having said that it should be a cracker. Swans by 16.

Agreed! Liked the look of TDL up forward. Increased game time will help his confidence. Have noticed that some opposition players think he's lewis jetta when he's chasing behind for a tackle so they tend to not want to outrun him.. it's a crack up.

Would still prefer Jesse White over Walsh, however Longmire will give him another chance against his old club.

    Bring on Saturday twilight!!!

Yes looking forward to this one, once again though depends on how we turn up to play. I watched a team determined to make amends for the tigers game against the dees and if we are genuine about finishing top 4 I too think it is a must win, the saints will be going all out aswell. Should be a close game and I think we can win.

Good start wil be a good start, the game can be lost in the first quarter, 4 qtrs of consistent footy will win teh game. We'll need to bash up their midfield. Swans by 6 goals

On paper - where no game is ever played , of course - it should be low-scoring and close.
The winning team will need to kick no more than 14 goals , maybe only 11 or 12.

That is a big call Dosser! Have you seen something we haven't? His reserves form maybe? I like whrere you are going with this though! I loved the way he played last week. Derryn prefers Jesse but I don't prefer him to Tommy. I like what Tommy brings to the team AGGRESSION that is what I loved!

                  I worry about this game.

The Melbourne press and media are presently going mad about the fact that this is Lenny Hayes' 250 game. They are currently obsessed by Lenny and his forthcoming milestone.(How ironic as Hayes was bred in metropolitan Sydney).

I remember back in 2001 watching a St Kilda-Sydney game with another Saints milestone: Stewart Loewe's 300th game. it was same calender month: May; the same stadium: Docklands: the same time of the weekend: Saturday afternoon. St Kilda were really weak that season, they sacked Malcolm Blight by Round 15. By contast Sydney played finals that season.

Yet for this game, they (including the crowd) really lifted for Stewie Loewe. The atmosphere at Docklands was totally focused with great excitement on St Kilda and Loewe. Sydney lost comfortably, one of only 3 games that Malcolm Blight coached St Kilda to a win.

                  I worry. Saints by 25.

                    We better win.
                    Or else.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

Spot on!!! Jessie a nice guy and they finish last!!

Tommy got fire and passions, give him a go. One game against crap opposition will have got his confidence up, and now its time to test him against a reasonable good team

Jessie had years to prove himself and lets face it he has done pretty much nothing; his name isn't a automatic inclusion in our team.

This is a danger game, we MUST WIN THIS to be in with a chance at a top four spot.

Slip a game now, and we will slid down the ladder alla Carlton!

I reckon the boys will be chomping at the bit to play an actual game of footy rather than a long training drill, and the Saints with bugger all left in the ruck, might just fall over, especially late in the game

Saints are on their second six day break between games - including an away game in Perth last Sunday.
We must go hard from the get - go and then blow them apart in the second half.
Despite what many think - Saints are old, are not quick, appear to be struggling with Watters new game style (whatever that is) and miss Ross desperately. All this bodes well for mine.
                              POUR IT ON SWANS!!!!!!
