Yes it is a very even year, but as far as premiership goes for us we need to somehow find a way to win in melbourne, at the G anyway, where the GF is obviously played, to win it. I dont think we have the right forward set up to win it either, but hey it is only round 10, im sure guys like spangher and morton will be given their chance and add to that goodsey returning and we may conjure up a half decent forward set up by seasons end.
We're top 4 impostors

Malthouse makes some fair points in this article.
Swans, Crows impostors: Malthouse
It's reasonable to say that if Collingwood and Hawthorn had played GWS twice instead of us, the current top 4 positions would probably be different. He does have a good point about the Crows, who not only played GWS twice, but the Gold Coast also.Comment

Until it is an "even" draw, ie each team plays each other the same number of times, this will continue to happen.
Pies get their blockbuster games, and teams want to play the pies at the MCG as a home game, coz they know the will rake in the $$$$
Someone has to play GWS, GC twice in a season. I'm pretty sure each Crows/PA, WC/freo play each other twice and now Sydney/GWS do the same.
One day GWS won't be a basket case and we'll regret that we have to play them twice.
We've also lost the away "home" games that we used to get via Dogs/Dees, and North at various times, which also gave us an advantage. If clubs want to sell their 4 points for crowds, so be it.
You can only play the teams that the AFL have allocated to you.
So far we've only lost 4 games, 2 of them to top 8 teams, so we deserve to be at the top as do the others.Comment

They can bitch and moan about the draw all they like.

As I've said before, we should have NAB Cup, 17 rounds with two byes (the players want an extra break) and finals as at present.
And stop the madness of playing AFL in February. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)Comment

For a top 4 side, GWS, GC, Port and Melbourne are all lock-in wins. He should do his research on those 4.Comment

? and West Coast, who are a better side than how they've been playing. You can throw a blanket right over this group at the moment.''
Malthouse said he considered Hawthorn to be ''a far better side'' than Sydney, despite the Swans having convincingly beaten the Hawks in Launceston in round five.
A better side than how they've been playing FFS !
I guess he thinks that the Swans are a worse side than how they've been playing.
Interesting to see how the pies go against the Roos, I see them as a bit of a wrecking ball. Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.Comment

Meh - bitter comments from a man whose tipping has obviously not gone well this year:

You would think a team with 25 scoring shots would beat a team with 18, but it didn't. The game against Collingwood looked remarkably like a third week
of finals game to me. Very highly contested, man-on-man footy with the result still in the balance with a minute to go. If we can keep playing this type of footy and a bit of luck goes our way like it did in 2005 (the Davo quarter against Geelong, and no multiple key player injuries) then there is no reason why we can't win the premiership. We just won nine games in a row in a comp where if you are off your game by 5% you will lose. Swans fans should hold their nerve the way the Swans themselves have been doing in tight situations pretty much all season.Comment

I think we're top 2 impostors, but not top 4 impostors. We're better than every team below Hawthorn. Maybe even better than Hawthorn and Adelaide (Let's see if we can beat Hawthorn again this year before we say we're better than them).Comment
