I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time -
Yep, saw that, doesn't seem to be any other reason other than Vez dropped him in it. No wonder he couldn't make it at the Swans, no room for girls running to the teacher at the Swans. They should appeal it and make him go on teh record so everyone knows for sure that he is not a man and cannot leave it on the field. he wasn't exactly crippledSuperman still wears Brett Kirk PyjamasComment

Good - as it looks like he did it. It gives us more standing if we dispute one later on rather than disputing everything. Hopefully, it will allow someone to step up rather than Mal coming back after a token game in the 2s. But it may also cost us the win and the momentum going into the bye. Silly boy.
Tho I'd be tempted to punch Vez myself for letting so much talent go to waste - even my Dogs mate said that their substitute is usually implemented when Vez runs out of puff.Comment

Sounds like Benny has accepted that he did something silly and will accept the punishment for it. Good on him - we can move on now. Other teams may play like thugs but it's not the Swans way....
And no more bleating about the MRP having it in for us, or the umpires having it in for us, or the AFL, or the media, yada yada yada. You whack someone, you get caught, you suffer the consequences. Simple really.
Now on to giving the Bombers a good thrashing this week :-)Comment

It's football, not netball, if it happens on the field it stays on the field, I coudn't see anything conclusive in that footage, he wasn't reported so the umps didn't see it, and it wasn't in the original MRP report, what's the conclusion, someone went screaming to the MRP, it's just not done, players get a gentle whack every week and probably give one back, not many whinge about it. Dumb dumb dumb by McGlynn. Patty is not a player that attracts that attn from opponents. Very surprised. Noticed Mcglynn has been throwing his arms/elbows around for a few games now.
Don't like the spite toward Patty on this thread either. Great kid who was desperate to play for us. As for dogs fans bagging him he was in their best on Sunday and stopped a complete pantsing. shame all the overplayed overrated dogs didn't step up.Comment

You just have to wonder about the inconsistency.
King v Ryder incidents. No difference in my eyes. Both dead set kicks yet one gets a reprimand. In the old days a kick was seen as a dog act and got up to 8 weeks. Both were clearly deliberate. Pendelbury has a crack in his shin bone from a low dive perhaps. A kick can do awful damage to the lower leg. One week is nowhere near enough penalty. Bertie Johnson of North back in the old days had a reputation for the "ankle tap".
Waters V Glass. Only difference was the bloke Waters hit did not have the ball. Glass was more severe and could have tackled but Fraser said it was his only option; crap.
Now McGlynn may be guilty but gee the vison was inconclusive to the naked eye. How do we know Ves didn't stage it; and Rance's wasn't a stage. And don't get me started on Jetta. It was worse than the one he got cited on previously. It was even a delayed reaction stage.Comment

I have no idea what vez said to the mrp, but I have no problem with him telling the truth. In fact, I would consider it to show a lack of integrity if he lied. Of course he can play it down or up, but who knows what he did? Maybe he played it down as much as he could and the mrp went ahead anyway.
Maybe they asked Benny if he whacked Vez and he said yes (being an honest and upstanding young man, blah, blah).
MRP may not know much, but they know a hell of a lot more than us. I guess that's what makes for a good thread...Comment

It's a bugbear of mine - people criticising the decisions of judges and courts. People see a five-minute news report and all of a sudden feel qualified to criticise the judgement of someone who not only has all the obtainable facts, but is an expert on the applicable laws and principles of law and has years of experience in evaluating them.
Having said that, the way the tribunal operates drives me crazy. The number 1 complaint against them is consistency, which could be easily solved by allowing clubs to argue from precedent.Comment
