    among many Lu Armstrong played.......

    very well

geese I like what I see with Armstrong featuring in our backline

I remember when we signed him I went back and watched a few of his games and they guy has a great disposal efficiency and ability to read the game

I said to a friend that he is a Blood, through and through. already. He just wants it.

He's exciting and seems to make smart decisions under pressure and he clearly LOVES the swans! What more could anyone ask for

That first qr was very eye-opening. Got a bit quieter but no doubt he was one that caught the Bombers on the hop.

Finally gets a full game..... and predictably...... he found the speed of the game.
He looked great, particularly in the first half.
Really fast hands, good mover and a good reader of the game.

            Loved his Point.

The later the commentators were talking about his kicking, and how it's his best feature!!

He was very good. Mal may have trouble getting back.

I wasn't getting my hopes up based on the very little I had seen, but last night was an eye opener. You couldn't ask much more of essentially a first-gamer + the "feel-good" factor makes it a great story.

Having said that, it was only one game. Hopefully he can build on that and become a consistent performer over a number of years. Based on last night he's earned the chance to go on with it.

No regrets about trading LJ for him.

I think we got the better of that deal.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

He did well enough to hold his position.

Hardly. He seems like a replacement for Kennelly.

Mattner is Mr Versatile in the defence. He can provide rebound but is more often used as a third man, or as a defender with an assigned opponent, either tallish or smallish. Our replacements for Mattner, when his time is up, are AJ or CH or maybe JL.

LOL, Satchmo. That point was kicked under much duress, but might have been a good option had he meant to do it, time to reset. Marty played a lot loose and third man into the contest, I don't see Armstrong doing that, AJ maybe, but Tony does kick well, finds targets and can run, He's not at AF: speed yet, especially for a game played at that pace, as a few of our blokes who came in from ressies or injury weren't. No surprise they faded a bit, and yes, Mal might be doing it tough to find a spot next game

I was critical of getting him so I definitely have egg on my face. I'm not beyond giving due credit and certainly he deserves some for throwing himself into the team and working to improve his game. He brings a great energy too. I'd liken it to childlike joy quite frankly with how happy and excitable he gets.

He's got a way to go, but he looks more than capable of taking and holding a halfback spot for for a few years to come.

I would like to also acknowledge the shear joy in his face when Tone is playing. Its been a while since a face like that has made its presence felt.

I agree with Liz........in the future i can see AJ definitely playing the loose defender role unless he beefs up and can do a Teddy

Jordan Lockyer is the one of interest to see how he progresses !
