      Laconic Lewis!!
Fair enough. Some might pick Davis, for the same reason!!

Interesting exercise...cant quite make it work though...whenever I move Gerard Healy into the mids...it throws him in the ruck, removing who I would select for that position...then wont let me put the original ruck back in

I have chosen a team to play, rather than the 'best' players

        But my team would be:

        F O'Loughlin Lockett Evans
        HF Morwood Hall Goodes
        C Maxfield G Williams Murphy
        HB Bayes Roos C Bolton
        B Barry Dunkley Ackerley

        Foll Round Healy Kelly

Int P Williams Kirk J Bolton Jolly

Not totally convinced on the rucks and the small forward (maybe Wright, Mitchell)
Also tossed up Roos and Denis Carroll

On pure football ability, I don't think he's anywhere near those other midfielders. If you're picking a team to actually play, then of course he goes in because of everything else he brought to the table. I was always in the minority with Lewis so I'm happy to take him out for Kirk but I saw him play some absolute blinders.

Could you imagine Hall and Lockett streaming our of the F50 with guys like Schwass, Williams x2 and Healy putting it down their throats!!

Who would you drop out of this team to include Kirk?
Definitely too tall and there's no way they could all play. I just couldn't bring myself to put Crouch for instance, ahead of someone like Roos as Crouch simply wasn't at the same level. So I guess that's the question - do pick a 'best 22' or an actual team?

You're not wrong though, it's a frightening midfield/forward set up.

I love Lewis too! But looking back over both of their careers, Kirk achieved a hell of a lot more.

Took a few posts in for some people to remember, but glad to see David Murphy get a mention, the man was one of the best wingmen I have EVER seen, absolutely brilliant.

Also, my favourite swans player of all time that I have been watching the swans(1977-now) is a definite in......Mark Bayes. Loved him.

I didn't want to put Diesel in either. He's still IMO the biggest traitor in my time following the Swans. But he was bloody good and will probably will be in the team they pick. Kirk is there, on the bench - I almost put him on the ground instead of Healy. The second ruckman was very tough. I considered not even picking one, but decided on Ball because he was the instrumental premiership ruckman.

I distinctly remember, in the early days of Stefan's career, taunting Norff supporters with "We've got the better Carey"!!!!!!!!!!

We must have similar tastes in footballers Johnno!!

Capper has to be any list at least as forward pocket as above.

He think because his antics he is completely underrated. 96 and 103 - 86-87. I think it was Healy who said they could of one the flag in those years but they had to travel to Melbourne for every game.
