A crowd of 22,565 tonight. Looks like the Giants get bragging rights this year for the derby attendance figures.

An indication of Sydney's indifference to a second and unwanted team....

Just missed out on the 100-pointer. 19.18 to 5.8. That's the Giants' second biggest loss.

        Back to second spot.

When we've pulled a crowd this year of only 13K to the SCG - against an established team - it's a bit harsh to blame tonight's crowd on the Giants...

But the whole purpose was to maximise tv revenue. In the long term this might work. I actually have my doubts, but if nsw adopts a similar approach to other states (ie hope to beat the living bejeesus out of the rival locally but if the other team gets close to a flag and your one is out you follow it) the continued rivers of gold might continue to flow into the code.

Oh well, the crowd figure is not the key for me - the score was pretty good.

I loved our smaller midfielders tonight - they all did very well and, most importantly, are kicking goals when our forwards aren't.

You know what, with some luck and 2 home finals - we could bloody win this.... If we played WCE or Adelaide at the G on Grand Final Day - well...I reckon we would have a good chance. I am not 100% convinced about the Mumford/Pyke ruck combo but maybe in 2-3 weeks I will be.

We still need to beat teh Eagles, and we'll have to play better than that to do it. No doubt the boys will be more up for that game, hopefully next week too. Can't complain about a 90 point win against a completely defensive side

I may be wrong, but I feel like we only played WCE once last year...and once coming up this year...both times in Perth?....Not too fair. In the old days it was always home and away consecutively between each side....

Yd go insane trying to fathom the draw, 5 years in a row Collingwood in Sydney, no Melbourne game at all. Complain not

That's a specific contractual thing, actually.

I think the WCE in Perth over the last two years is just a concidence. Remember these days we only play five sides twice and one of those is the Giants.

We will probably continue to play the Giants twice until they get up to speed to try to get some interest in the team, the more games they play in Sydney the better for promotion. I don't pay much attention to the other interstate derby's, are they still playing twice?

They are Gong. And always will. We will always play the Giants twice. Everyone says that's a massive advantage for us, and it is at the moment, but there'll be no complaining from the whingers if and when their kids come good.
