I have read through this thread hoping to see a little insight on what changes could be made to the team for what is likely to be a very tough match against the Blions.
Anyone watched any of their recent wins? They have won three of their last four. Granted two were against cellar dwellers (Dees and Dogs) but they won those well (doubled, roughly, the opp. score). Is Merrit still playing CHB or is he switching like Leppitsch used to do? Is he going to be LRT's target? Is Rich playing mid/fwd? Would Bird be most likely going to him? Do they have a cluely defender that would match TDL? Would Everitt create a good mis-match as there is no one that can match up on him? Same question re: Goodes?
    Any insights anyone?

I'm by no means an oracle when it comes to the lions, but did see their last match against the demons (whilst doing some ironing ).
Merrett was still playing as a forward, and provides a reasonable second target behind Brown who incidentally looks to be getting back into some form, albeit against a lesser opposition.
Rich did play that roaming Mid, pushing forward, as does Rockliff, who I think needs a hard tag. Black was Black, so creative with his in close handballing ability.
Dayne Zorko was dangerous for the first 5 minutes, and was then strangely quiet.
They got heaps of run out of defence from Pearce Hanley, who runs hard and uses the ball extremely well.
      Ed Considine's day out - Round 3, 16th April 1995.
11 Kicks, 13 Handballs, 8 Marks, 1 Goal, 1 Behind, 1 Tackle, 1 Hitout, 3 Brownlow votes (his only votes)
      Ed = God

Good to see someone else who does the ironing whilst watching footy, although I try not to do it watching Swannies games anymore after I bent the ironing board in the match vs the Dees last year....

I agree that Rockliff is the guy who needs the hard tag, and Bird would be the one to go with him. Happily he isn't the speediest guy around. Kizza and Redden would be a good match up too. LRT would be a decent one for Hanley, or even Everitt. Brown and Merrett have been doing ok and will keep Reg and Teddy busy enough, however I think our midfield can get over the top of these guys, and I can't see any of them keeping up with Jetta. TDL would be a handy in but I cant see him getting the nod....

Hanley never stops and will play on every time he has the ball. He is the one who gives them the most drive from defence. I think we need to rotate players on him.

Wow, just read this thread. Same old get rid of LRT rants by the same old posters.

TDL for Everitt would be my only change this week.

We might have an unexpected in, one L.Parker who seems to have absorbed some of the amazing recuperative powers of his co-captain.

Wow - that's good news. And he probably needs a run this week if he's going to be ready to take on the Eagles the following week.

                  You really are an optimist!

Maybe Parker will get a run in the twos this week and be cherry ripe for Perth the following. Can't imagine who they'll drop to let him in. Nice headache to have.

Will be interesting to see who Raines tags. I would suspect most teams rate Kennedy as the one to tag.

Great to see the positive mention of Gary Rohan as well.
Seems to be hanging in there with the group and maintaining a positive attitude ... on his new leg !

Everitt has massive credits in my book. Proceed for now, he needs more confidence and he'll come good. Who'll make way for Parker though?!

Very much part of the kids day today and still having a joke. Still in moon boot for a few more weeks.

Signed autographs afterwards. So the poor kid seems in very good spirits. He said he went home last week but was back at the Club doing rehab.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

Gaz at training this arvo..out of boot and on crutches. In fact, discarded cruutches for 10/15 minutes and participated in slick handball drills..mostly opposite Mr Adam Goodes....and he seemed to enjoy it..as well as being VERY good with his hands. He's forgotten nothing!

So Parker in as sub, given penchant for sticking returning players in the vest. Who for? I reckon Bird. Only change.
