The Future ?
What will change in five , ten , twenty years ?
Here are my scientifically-analysed , wild stabs in the dark :
Within five years :
*Night grand final (not very original - that was mooted in the paper , the day after we won the flag in '05)
*Five-man interchange , two subs
Increased numbers of replacements evolved in other games and it will in ours. Inevitable , so Andy may as well introduce it sooner , rather than later.
Within ten years :
*A New Zealand team
*A Tassie team
Within twenty years :
*"Australian Rules" becomes an archaic term and "Global Rules" takes its place.
The traditionalists are disgusted , but the worldwide marketing opportunities demand dropping the parochial "Australian".
*A team based in China.
*Fifty-seven year-old Dustin Fletcher decides to hang up the boots
