    I hate these games!

The Eagles game was okay. It was 1 playing 2, it was on their ground and I thought we'd win but it would have been explainable if we lost. This week it's 1 playing 8 and at home and we should win. But the Saints match up well on us, they beat us last time and this has been the situation when we've lost in the past. I really hope we keep the pedal to the metal and win by 50 but not as confident as I should be.

If we win, the Premiership tilt is well and truly on!

Nervous weekend - and the bloody game is on Sunday.

I will probably cop it from everyone if we lose this week but i can't really see why so many people are nervous for this game.
Yes we lost to them earlier this year but we had Pyke in the ruck without the experience, No Mumford or Goodes. Tommy Walsh had negative SC points. I don't rate the Saints at all. We beat them in the finals last year and we will beat them again.

We didn't turn up to play last time. It was an aberration. Not that the Saints aren't a good side or anything, I actually think they've got the potential to put any of the top 6 on their bums under the right circumstances, but we just look so ridiculously convincing, and I think we've learnt to play our game plan consistently. We're flying, and more importantly, we're at home.

Furthermore, the Saints' defence is based around not allowing inside 50s. Once the ball is in their defensive 50, they have goals kicked on them quite easily. The small SCG plus our long-kicking game should allow us to bury them in a flood of inside 50s. It's going to be really difficult for them to defend against our forward thrusts. By the same token, they'll probably pile a bunch of inside 50s onto our defence, but our defence is, both statistically and subjectively, the best defence in the league for repelling inside 50s. The SCG suits our style, it doesn't suit the Saints'. A high inside 50 game is what we want, and it's what we'll get.
Officially on the Reid and Sumner bandwagon!

We are playing footy ATM, last time we were playing around, and Maybe got overawed by the Lenny hysteria.

            Swans by heaps!!

I agree, I felt we had an off day and saints to advantage of this...

However their improvement since beating us has been a quantum leap. Won't be an easy task and we need to bring our A grade game a week after travelling to the West!

This is my only worry. I think the ratio has improved this year but in years gone by a large number of teams coming back from the west played below par the following week.

Training Wednesday was interesting, they did quite a long session which is unusual post WA (from memory they almost always have a light run).

Yeah im nervous about this game for some reason, not sure why, just dont feel overly confident, just hopeful. Perhaps because we are due for a loss? It wouldnt be the end of the world if we did drop it though IMO, we would still be in the top 4 and have gold coast next week....but boy I hope we can smash the saints this week!

We must have different definitions of quantum leap as they have won 3 of the 6 games since and of those the only convincing one was the thrashing of the bombers, which interestingly was another milestone game for a favourite son. They literally fell over the line last week against the Lions.

Saints had played West Coast in Perth the week before they beat us in rd9 on a 6 day turn around.

Yeah, I think I gotta make some updated ones. Will without question make a Collingwood one in case we get up over them this year and flaunt it around a little.
