All Roos ever does is show some familarity with the swans and he talks about them more often. What do they expect him to do, forget his ten years at the club and act like he loves the melbourne teams like the rest of them. In the St Kilda game , Spud was just as parochial about St Kilda and constantly whinned about them blowing it rather than us letting them hang in when we should have put them away much earlier.

And so what if he shows some bias, it isn't like he's good for five goals a game (like the cowed umpies in Perth) or can swing any changes on the field. If there is a criticism of Roosy, it might be that he comes across as too judgmental and critical of any player who makes a mistake. He's certainly baked a few for some blunders. But so does Mick Malthouse. No coincidence that they are both former coaches and would still have memories of 'coach killer' moments on field!
Exactly. They're getting a taste of their own medicine and they don't like it. Suck on that, I say.

Still can't understand why people on here complain about the HS coverage. They are a Melbourne based newspaper trying to appease their reader base. Why would they give a two page spread to a Swans V GC game that was quite uneventful. Yes i would have preferred the match article to be with the other AFL news but it was at the back. Big deal

When we start winning finals and hopefully the grand final there will be more than enough coverage.

However on the previous page there was a whole spread article on a game between two vfl teams, who are not even reserve teams of any afl side. So I think it's pretty fair to say we are less under the radar and more just plainly ignored. The consensus from melbourne media is that we will make the finals but be no threat, so basically we don't warrant the ink or air time now.

So based on that, yes I agree with you, we will win more games and stay at the top yet no one will think that matters.
This is a common complaint about games played on Saturday night. Logistically it isn't possible to get full reports in the paper before it goes to press. In comparison what coverage was there of the Richmond Carlton game? That was played at the same time. If the coverage is similar then there goes the conspiracy theory!

BTW a story about 2 stand alone VFL teams is a big story in Victoria where the AFL feeder teams were running all over the stand alones until Port Melbourne went through last year undefeated.

Its not Melbourne based coverage only. We barely get a sniff in Sydney from the printed press, even though we have been at the top for a while now, but at least they know who we have played. Mind you there was a flurry about a week ago, but they appear to have run out of steam, or information. There is no balance,

Some people dont realise the media is a business. No one is really gonna buy a paper to read about how the top team beat the 17th by 12 goals.

Now, when we beat fellow top 4 contenders its a different story. We beat pies, hawks and geelong and there will be coverage. We beat blues n dogs there wont be much apart to say the blues season is over.

Perhaps this is why the printed press abhor on-line forums so much. What you don't get in the press, you can get here. People no longer read papers, they go online. So now the "papers" start charging for online content. I doubt there would be too many people that pay for online content - If you do, it's still free out there, look for different "papers" ...

RWO is still free. Apart from the occasional request for donations, it is free for you - and we still have some of the best (Swans and reserves) reporters going around ...
