Collingwood is the same as us. We are at home, We should win. Reid is exciting, but isnt dominating games. He's coverable.
Hawthorn is the form team of the moment. 50/50.
Geelong at the cattery is hard. Hopefully we have sown up top 2 by then.

Its time to release Mitch Morton.
I agree with all of your comments re our upcoming games.

Re Morton - it's a tricky one - I guess we'll see if he's been ticking the right boxes by the coaches and selection committee this week. I would assume that he would have a pretty good shot after kicking 9 on somewhat decent opposition at the GC on the weekend. Hopefully he is getting the hang of our gameplan and what is required to succeed as a Swan. If he doesn't get a guernsey this week it would be pretty much curtains for his year by the looks of things.

Same for Jesse as well, except it would be curtains on his career in his case....

Although I agree with the above, I would like to see Goodes at CHF and moving through the midfield, with Morton one out at FF. However, where is The Strut? I would have thought it would be tall for tall with Reid gone.

Having said that, it will probably be Reid out, Mummy in.

I did the ladder predictor on the AFL site and had us top four but going down to the Hawks in the PF. GF will be all birds - Hawks/Crows. You heard it here first!

Since the top 4 are all birds, I think a bird based grand final is very likely, with Bird winning the Norm Smith.

Paul McCartney did ok at the olympics, maybe he could re-form "wings"... using his one-legged ex as the stand-in.

If Freo beat West Coast this week, which they probably will on form and with the latest WC outs its highly unlikely we'll miss the top four, even if we only beat the bulldogs on the run home.

The AFL establishment don't appear to believe we're a realistic chance against Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn or Geelong.

If I were a member of the team, that would be pretty powerful motivation for me to go out there, and prove everyone wrong.
If you have a look at Luxbet we are paying just $1.01 for our team to make the top 4. The bookies probably have a better idea about our chances than a journo.

Thats the best news Ive heard all day.
If we beat pies we will be 2 games and % clear (they'd have to win 3 more games than us to dislodge us from top 3). So pies game will lock in top 3.

To lock in top 2. it will be a fight with Adelaide and Hawthorn. Lets say they both drop one game for the rest of the year. Using the same logic as collingwood, if we beat Hawthorn as well, we will be a lock for top 2.

Beat both those two, and at least 1 other of Dogs, Carlton and Pussies, and I think top 2 will be ours.

I'd love to go into the last round not having to win.

The Strut as you put it has only played two matches back from injury and scored 3 goals against the Suns. He seemed to play quite well from the footage but that is not a good indication. His first match back was a bit shaky and he looked a little rusty.

This weeks game worries the crap out of me - a desperate Carlton + our recent Melbourne form = disaster.

I think Morton may be in the hunt for a spot this week as the ressies report singled his performance out, not specifically for his goal kicking but his overall game.
