Tickets for R22 Hawks game (Vic member)

Sorry. I missed this if it has been discussed elsewhere. I just spoke to the Melbourne office about getting tickets to the Hawks game. I want to come up from Melbourne with my daughter. She Vic Gold Junior member, me Vic Premiership Gold. The conditions asterisk that entry for these levels of membership is "subject to capacity".

Ben at the Melbourne office, who was very helpful BTW, said that demand is expected to outweigh supply and that Vic members will have to go through a registration process to get in. Information will be forthcoming shortly in an email.

Alternatively I can upgrade through Ticketek, supply member barcodes and recieve the discount on reserved seating. I tried this and found the online process confusing or it was telling me that there were not two seats together left. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see if I can do it over the phone.

Anyways, I just wanted to let other Vic members planning to go know that the asterisk is likely to come into play and that you should make some effort to secure tickets asap.

In addition, I was hoping members wiser than I and who may be more regular visitors to the SCG than I can share their ticket procurement strategies with me to make sure my daughter and I get to see the game.

A full house (of sorts) could make this a memorable game.

I'm hearing that due to the limited capacity of the SCG the game has been moved to the London Olympic stadium. They thought about moving it to Homebush but they reasoned there would be less member backlash with the London move.

Good luck with the tickets tomorrow.

Nick Darcy is there already to take care of any protesting members.
Nothing like a good light bulb moment.

You lot are disgusting. Here is a Swans member seriously asking a question and all you can do is make fun of him. Shame on you.

It's OK Swallows. I get Big Al's sense of humour. I don't think he was being nasty and was not offended.

UPDATE: Ticketek can't help. There is no reserved seating left other than single seats which does not suit me and my 13 year-old daughter.

I'll have to wait and see what the club email says to see if we can get members' GA access. Hopefully they have put aside a few spots for Vic supporters with the appropriate levels of membership. It would be a shame if my membership can get me into the Grand Final should we make it but not round 22.

The Vic Gold and Premiership level memberships allow for up to three games in Sydney with the aforementioned asterisk (subject to capacity).

Anyway, we have to be in Sydney that weekend for something else so if any sympathetic members have a couple of spare tickets for us that they are not using for the Hawks game, feel free to PM me and I will make sure that two red and white bums are filling the vacancies and contributing to the noise.

At least I can get into Docklands on Sunday to see the Mighties.

Thanks. Done. We are going to be there.

                Are these seats any good?

                Section: BAY6RRow: DSeat/s: 22-21

The venue map seems to indicate they are in front of the O'Reilly stand, in the first bay next to the construction zone.

Well done, that's great news. A mate of mine sits in that bay and he seems to like it there . You might cop the setting sun in the 1st qtr but you're close to the action so that's a good thing.

Ps: Hope this isn't misconstrued as abuse.

Well done. Hope it's a good game.

I was considering a visit to Sydney too, but work has intervened with that.

Well done. You can jump the fence and retrieve the ball out of the construction site!!
Now that the Sydney bandwagoners have joined the party; it's pretty hard to get a ticket.
Sad bit is, at the game when you see all the empty seats, they are seats that members haven't turned up to sit in.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.

Pretty good - I think Row D is right on the boundary so you're up close and personal.

If you turn around and look up in the boxes above, you should be able to wave to Richard Colless.

Also, wrap up because the wind must whip through there now that the walls are down.

My mob and I sat in Bay 6, row E, seats 5 and around - but we were moved to Bay 8 due to the construction. You'd be right up on the fenced off bit, hence the restricted view, but it should be fine. Some nice people in the seats around too so you should have fun. You might even be able to get mobile reception there if you're really really lucky.....

Thanks to all. I am really looking forward to this game.

Ashleigh likes being up close so that is good but I hope we don't miss a Jetta classic from the pocket boundary line. Actually, I could live with missing half a dozen of those.

I have been to at least one SCG game for the last 10 years and play the ground pretty well. Two most recent visits were for Tiges game last year (we nearly blew it, would be nice to have Seaby consistently in that form) and before that for the Hawks game in 2010 which included one of my all-time Top five favourite Swans moments (Jetta's first goal and a win).
