Our most likely finish to the season...

...is probably 3rd spot, behind Adelaide (1st) and Hawthorn (2nd).

I think we'll win against the Bulldogs next week, then lose to Hawthorn at the SCG, and Geelong at Simonds Stadium.

If we beat either Hawthorn or Geelong, then we'll probably finish second, and play Hawthorn or Collingwood in Week 1 of the finals.

Collingwood have to play North at Etihad next week, then travel to Perth for West Coast, then play Essendon at the MCG. They'll probably beat North and Essendon, and lose to West Coast.

Hawthorn play Gold Coast at the MCG (a massacre), us (probable win), and West Coast at the MCG (probable win).

Adelaide play Brisbane at the Gabba, Melbourne at the MCG, and Gold Coast at home (another massacre). They'll probably win all three games.

I think we could drop to 4th with Hawthorn, Collingwood and Adelaide all winning all their remaining games and us winning just the 1, the hawks game will be huge to see where we finish.

Fourth would be OK as we would have to play Adelaide and they are the only team out of the three that we could possibly beat.

My god how pessimistic are some people.. we lost to collingwood due to our terrible kicking. 16 behinds. We will smash those bulldogs next week and well beat the cats at their home. We wont beat hawthorn though

i agree if we don't beat the cats we don't deserve to be where we are.

We were bound to lose one sooner or later. And we probably should've won that one. I don't think that loss will hurt us in the long run.

Why r hawthorn beating us. I tend to think the cats will be hard but we can win the next two and we can beat any of the finals sides even friggen collingwood.

Who wins 10 in a row in this comp? No one does often. We lost by just over a kick last night we wasted chances and played some crap footy. We were due for a dud game.

The only part that makes this loss stand out is it was collingwood again but geez we showed we can match them bring them on in september i say.

Hawthorn are media darlings and some super power but they never beat geelong so why r they so unbeatable?

Put reid back in and jude and we r right. Especially reid we needed a target last night and goodes still looked sore

Plenty of upside and plenty of reason to be positive. I know the fans having faith is a bit of a silly concept. But get behind the boys and keep ur chins up our best can win it

Generally I think, beat hawthorn and we'll get top 2 (the win will knock hawks % lower than ours).

The season comes down to that game.

I know we are coming off a disappointing loss last night... but I can't buy that we couldn't possibly beat Hawthorn or Collingwood, either home or away.

We lost to Collingwood last night in a very even game by 8 points, which was not helped by our awful kicking (one of the first times this year our kicking really has let us down.) If a similar contest was to unfold if we meet again, we will not be so wasteful again I'd expect.

We belted Hawthorn at their 'fortress' in Tasmania. We may very well beat them again in 2 weeks time.

I think we'll belt the Doggies next week, and then beat Hawthorn the following week, and who knows about the cats. Likely to finish 3rd or 4th, but we won against Geelong down there last year, so who's to say we can't do it again. But this team has suprised a lot of us all season, and there is no reason they can't keep doing so. And that includes winning a tough away game in the first week of the finals.

As far as I can see the ladder says the Swans are currently on top. If we are to have any chance in September, which I think we do, we have to believe we can win the next three games. So top spot for the Swans.
I also realise that the top six teams are generally very even and any one on their day can beat anyone else. Yesterday wasn't our day, but I didn't see anything bad enough to not believe. On the contrary I saw a team with lots of potential improvement.

Yep, had a few calls gone our way last night we could have got over the line with a few players not putting in their best performances. On the upside, I thought Parker was noticeably better last night. I don't see why we can't win the remaining three games, but we do need to have forwards at home for the game, they seemed to get sucked up into the middle too much against Collingwood

I just ran the ladder predictor thingy, even if under a worst case scenario assuming we only beat the Dogs in the run home and the teams currently outside the top 4 gain maximum points from the final 3 rounds it would be nearly impossible for us to miss the top 4, since we would still have 16 wins and a good percentage. It'd probably mean a trip to Adelaide in the first week of the finals though, and while we would be not without a chance, I'm not exactly looking forward to coming up against Dangerfield, Walker and co on their home ground...

Yep, the Hawks game will decide whether we finish top 2 or not....

Agree with Anne, I'd much prefer to play Adelaide than Hawthorne in the first final.

I reckon we can beat Adelaide anywhere.
