..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC
Games like last night - low scoring scraps - tend to have a lot of stoppages. Our games apparently have the most amount of time where the ball is in dispute too. 35 is long but not unheard of. I think a few weeks ago (not our game) there was a 36-37er.
Thrown in as part of the package deal negotiated by the AFL that gives the Pies a venue they like more than the home team year after year.
Can anyone tell me what home game advantage we get by being there? Bigger crowd brings more dollars, but all the extra ticket buyers would be Pies fans. When the SCG revamp is done, there is not a single valid argument for us to play anyone (let alone the Pies) out there.
The ground itself is rubbish for AFL (aside from my general distate for the results we have out there). We were in 'Platinum' seats in bay 105 last night and couldn't see the entire playing surface - when the ball goes towards the boundary in front of that section, play disappears. What a joke for seats they offload for $75 each!
Fortunately we didn't pay for them - they were a pay off from ANZ after we complained that 'gold' seats we bought for Round 1 were so poorly raised that you were basically looking at the ground between the heads of people in front of you (also along with obstructed view when play came close to the near boundary).
Our member seats higher up in bay 137 are miles away from the play, but at least the whole field is viewable!
