I find that very strange indeed.

Sandilands and Simmonds were very capable in the ruck this year and they have the Longmuire brothers to pinch hit if need be.

Maybe if they get rid of Croad, they will look to use Simmonds more as a forward next year, leaving Mott and Sandilands to ruck.

Mott was an ok player but that behind at Stadium Oz was just too disappointing.

Huh, Simmonds = average season Sandilands = Developing, Only one of the longmuire brothers can ruck and hes now a out of form key forward.

Mott dominates at WAFL level and was the state of Origin ruckman, he will act as a safegaurd that can walk striaght in if need be as we have seen ourseleves he is capable.

Honestly don't know why Ricky Mott cops a bashing from fellow swans supporters, he was good for us last year when Ball was out.

It was clear he wasnt serious about his footy. Have you forgotten why we got rid of him? That behind against Essendon at Telstra Stadium will probably be his biggest memory with the Swans.

              That was really disappointing...

Sounded like a pretty good bloke to me, everytime I saw him interviewed. You don't just piss a bloke off, just because he has a bit of an attitude, you work with him, make him a better person. It hasn't hurt us though, unless he plays good football for Freo, which is a bit of a chance.

So you would have given him the flick Sid, just on that miss?
It was a bad miss, but that's not the reason the club sent him packing.

I'm not fazed that we gave him away by the way, but I think he will probably bite us, to some degree.

I doubt it, even if he gets to play senior footy with Freo and does OK. He doesn't fit into Roosey's style of play.

If Mott was an extremely good player, then we would have probably given him a chance. But given the fact that he wasn't one of the best players and was only young, I think how the team operates is more important than how he performs.

I don't think anyway can say that he was a bad player. I thought he was and was happy to have kept him if it weren't for all the dramas.

Mott was a one dimensional "dinosaur" - could only play in the ruck apart from resting up front.

handy tap ruckman, but his lack of mobility means he didn't do enough around the ground.

Had a problem with his weight and the booze & ciggys.

                      He was replaced with MJ.

Time will tell , but I doubt he will come back to "bite us"

Hopefully his sacking was a wake up call he needed, but remember he missed being drafted years ago after being a junior AA because of perceived attitude problems.

Good luck to him, but the Swans don't need his type

Did he really smoke? I am surprised that any club would touch a player that smokes. It must affect their fitness.

LOL - one of my earliest memories of Sydney aftermatches is that DK was always up at the bar... beer in one hand, smoke in the other. He'd get through 3 standard beers in an average aftermatch, and they weren't especially long, either.
